Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is describe the mistake of students when completing story problems arithmetic sequence and arithmetic series at senior high school. The method used in this research is descriptive method with seurvey research. The subjects in this research were students at SMK Mandiri Pontianak class XI Akuntansi II with a number of 24 students who have studied arithmetic sequences and arithmeticseries, some students were in the high category while the others were in medium category and low category. Data collection techniques used were story problems test and interviews. The results of the data analysis showed that students' mistake when completing story problems were varied,. However generally the mistake of students when completing story problems were misconceptions, errors using data, errors in interpreting language, technical errors and errors in drawing conclusions. There was no significant difference about the mistake of students when completing story problems for each student category except at mistakes in drawing conclusions, The low category students has done that mistake by a greater percentage of the others. Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the mathematical connection ability of students studied from their adaptive reasoning ability in solving cube and block material problems in junior high school. This research was arranged in the form of a case study with the research subjects are 20 students of class IXc SMP Negeri 1 Tebas who have studied cube and block material, while the object in this research were the mathematical connection ability and adaptive reasoning abilities. Data collection in this research was carried out through tests of adaptive reasoning abilities and tests of mathematical connection abilities as well as interviews as a follow-up activity after being given the test. Based on the data analysis conducted, the results showed that students 'mathematical connection abilities tended to be in line with students' adaptive reasoning abilities. Students with high category adaptive reasoning ability tend to have high category mathematical connection ability, which is 75% of them. Students with moderate category addictive reasoning ability tend to have mathematical connection ability which is classified as moderate category, which is 76.92% of them. Meanwhile, students with low category of adaptive reasoning tend to have low mathematical connection ability, which is 67% of them.Keywords: Adaptive Reasoning, Cube and Block, Mathematical Connection

Abstract

 AbstractThis research aim to know the examples of mathematic School concepts in in elementary school and junior school which included muslim prayer. The research methods were using study of literature. The references of this research are books and several documents that related to muslim prayer. The results of data analysis in this research was obtained examples of mathematic school concepts in muslim prayer in term of number theory, algebra and geometry. In term of number theory obtained part of addition whole number which included in rak'ah prayer, multiplication in prayer saying and double in rak'ah Tahajud prayer. In term of algebra obtained part of sets, empty set, set relation and set operation which included in muslim prayer and their rak'ah. Then obtained part of march pattern and arithmetics in which included in rak'ah witir and tahajud prayer. In term of geometry obtained part of line segment, parallel lines, 45 degree angle, 90 degree angle, and 180 degree angle which included in prayer movementsKeywords: Contextual examples, mathematics school concept, Shalat

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the obstacles of mathematical connections of students in the material of counting algebraic expressions of expression in grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Raya. The research method used is descriptive with the form of research used is case study. The sample of this research is 30 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Raya. The result of data analysis indicates that the obstacle of mathematical connection of students in the material of counting operation of algebraic expression there are two obstacle of epistimology that is conceptual barrier and procedural barrier. Based on the results of data analysis found that the level of ability of upper group students only have the connection constraints in reducing the negative number of algebraic expressions, the level of ability of middle group students have barriers in reducing the negative number in algebraic expression and less thorough in solving the problem so there are questions that are not completed , While the level of ability of lower columnok students have obstacles in reducing the negative number, wrong in using the concept, not careful in solving problems in everyday life. Keywords: Connection obstacle, Epistimological obstacle, Algebraic operations
