Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the analysis of students' skills in writing narrative essays. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The object of this research is students' essays which are assessed from the aspects of the suitability of the title with the content, spelling writing, diction, sentence structure, inter-sentence integration, inter-paragraph alignment, overall content, and neatness. The source of the data for this research was the VC class of the 29 Pontianak City Elementary School, which amounted to 14 students. This study uses interview instruments, documentation. The results of this study indicate that the average ability to write descriptive essays is 45 in the (less) category. This is seen in terms of the percentage of students who scored in the very category of 1 person or 0.7%, the good category did not exist, the category enough was 3 people or 0.21%, the category was less than 2 people or 0.14%, the category was very less 8 people. or 0.57%. The difficulties faced by students are several aspects including the use and writing of spelling (use of capital letters, punctuation marks, writing less letters, hyphens), overall content, sentence structure, cohesiveness between paragraphs (difficulty developing paragraphs or less able to think of ideas ). Thus, it can be concluded that the ability to write narrative essays in VC class students is in the poor category because there are still some students' difficulties in writing narrative essays.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze errors in writing fiction essays for fifth grade students at 38 Sungai Ambawang Elementary School. The research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The participants of this study acted as data sources, namely the 11 students of class V Elementary School 38 Sungai Ambawang. The research instrument is the researcher himself. Data collection techniques used are documentation techniques and reading & note- taking techniques. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there were 299 writing errors from 11 students' essays. Writing errors are divided into 25 errors of word choice (diction), or 8.36%, 244 errors or 81.60% of word writing (spelling) errors, and 30 errors of writing effective sentences or 10.30%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategy of classroom teachers to instill the value of character education in students in the classroom. The type of research is descriptive qualitative research with casestudy method. The subject of the study was the fourth grade A teacher at 39 Pontianak City Elementary School. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that teachers have implemented character education strategies, namely: 1) applying learning motivation that involves student participation; 2) create a conducive learning environment; 3) build supportive and caring relationships in the classroom and throughout the school; 4) positive behavior as role models for students; 5) creating opportunities for students and meaningful including in school life and in the classroom; 6) teach essential social and emotional skills; 7) create meaningful and relevant learning assignments; 8) no child is neglected, all students can realize their potential. Barriers to the implementation of the strategy of grade IV A teachers instilling the value of character education include internal and external factors. Internal factors arestill the lack of self-awareness of the students themselves to follow the strategies that the teacher gives and the teacher's lack of understanding about the theory of character planting. External factors, namely the environment and conditions, namely the pandemic that occurred
