Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using digital comics as a learning medium in transforming and internalizing Islamic values at MTsN Pariaman. In the rapidly developing digital era, conventional teaching methods are often less able to attract the attention of students who grow up in a technological environment. Therefore, innovation in learning media is very important to increase student engagement and understanding. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of documentation related to the use of digital comics in the classroom. The results of the study showed that digital comics were not only successful in increasing students' interest in learning, but were also effective in conveying moral messages and Islamic values in a more interactive and enjoyable way. Teachers at MTsN Pariaman reported that students found it easier to understand and remember material delivered through digital comics compared to traditional teaching methods.

Abstract

Equity in education must be realized in its implementation. In Sirambas Village, the distribution of Early Childhood Education (KB) programs remains uneven, and many community members are reluctant to enroll their children in KB, considering it unimportant and costly. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings at KB Syifa Azzahra in Sirambas Village reveal: (1) school management is based on the philosophy "by the people, for the people," ensuring free education; (2) management encompasses planning, organizing, leadership, and supervision; (3) funding is conducted independently; (4) teacher optimization is achieved through a guest teacher program; (5) learning emphasizes a holistic approach covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects; and (6) school promotion strategies leverage socio-cultural approaches. The success of this program is supported by active community participation, which has increased awareness of the importance of early childhood education. These findings underscore the significance of community-based approaches in expanding access, fostering equity, and creating sustainable education models.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Jarimatika method in elementary mathematics learning from the perspective of school policy and management. Jarimatika, as a finger-based learning innovation, is believed to enhance students’ basic arithmetic skills and create an engaging and contextual learning atmosphere. However, its successful implementation depends not only on teachers’ competence but also on supportive school policies and effective management strategies applied by school leaders and educators. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted in several elementary schools that have implemented Jarimatika. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and analysis of school policy documents. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of Jarimatika implementation is significantly influenced by internal policies that support learning innovation, continuous teacher training, and the leadership role of principals in fostering an open and change-oriented school climate. Furthermore, adaptive and participatory school management has been proven to facilitate the integration of Jarimatika into the curriculum and daily learning activities. These findings emphasize the importance of synergy between school policy and managerial practice in improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary education.
