Abstract

Rendahnya kualitas pendidikan sering kali disebabkan oleh rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa, serta penerapan metode pembelajaran yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif, seperti ceramah dan hafalan. Hal ini mengakibatkan kesulitan siswa dalam memahami konsep fisika dan berpengaruh pada hasil belajar yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Melalui analisis terhadap 20 artikel jurnal nasional yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2016 hingga 2024, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 10% jurnal termasuk dalam kategori rendah, 60% dalam kategori sedang, dan 30% dalam kategori tinggi. Sebagian besar jurnal yang dianalisis menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran inkuiri dianggap sebagai solusi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran fisika dan dapat digunakan sebagai strategi untuk memperbaiki kualitas pendidikan di sekolah. The low quality of education is often caused by students' lack of interest and motivation, as well as the use of teaching methods that fail to actively engage students, such as lectures and rote memorization. This leads to difficulties in understanding physics concepts and negatively affects learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the implementation of the inquiry-based learning model as an effort to improve students' motivation and learning outcomes. By analyzing 20 national journal articles published between 2016 and 2024, the findings show that 10% of the journals fall into the low category, 60% into the medium category, and 30% into the high category. The majority of the analyzed journals demonstrate that the inquiry learning model has a positive impact on improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes in physics. Therefore, the inquiry-based learning model is considered an effective solution to enhance the quality of physics education and can be used as a strategy to improve educational quality in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of using PhET simulations in improving students' understanding of the Compton Effect concept. The research design employed was a quasi-experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, involving five students as the research sample. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments, along with questionnaires to gather students' responses to the learning experience. The results showed a significant improvement in students' understanding after using the PhET simulation. The average pretest score was 32, which increased to 80 in the posttest. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-test indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest (p<0.05). Students reported that the PhET simulation helped them understand difficult physics concepts more effectively than conventional methods. Overall, the PhET simulation proved to be effective in enhancing students' understanding of the Compton Effect and can serve as a valuable alternative in higher education learning.
