Abstract

Along with technological advancements, smartphones have evolved from being just a means of communication to now being multifunctional devices that reflect the status of their users and offer various features, such as cameras, music and video players, video calls, voice recorders, games, and internet access. These innovations' progress made them widely used by humans in their activities. One of the innovations that utilizes this technology is a building space introduction and learning application explicitly designed for elementary school students, using the Android-based Rolling Hash method. This application is an interactive educational tool that provides comprehensive information about building spaces, explains the various forms of building spaces, provides applicable examples, and offers solutions to related problems. This application's primary focus is implementing the Rolling Hash algorithm for string matching, which was chosen for its ability to perform fast and accurate matching in answering questions. By implementing this algorithm, the application can efficiently handle various questions involving strings, enhancing students' learning experience. This application uses Java programming language with ADT IDE for Eclipse and SQLite as a database system to store and manage data. The result of this final project is a learning application that not only facilitates the introduction of building space concepts to elementary school students but also shows how modern technology can improve learning methods. The Rolling Hash algorithm proved its effectiveness in fast and precise string matching, providing an optimal solution for this educational application and presenting a model of how technological tools can support primary education innovatively and practically.

Abstract

The phenomenon of youth violence is a complex problem involving psychological, economic, and cultural dimensions. Juvenile criminal behavior has been highlighted as a multidisciplinary challenge in society. Psychological difficulties, such as mental disorders and trauma, are drivers of criminal behavior. Adolescent identity and autonomy, often a trigger, is exacerbated by a lack of self-control, emotions, sexual trauma and parental care so that adolescents internalize the values of what they observe, namely violent films. In researching teenage murder cases, a descriptive approach is used to analyze related documents. Criticisms of psychoanalysis involve the inaccuracy of the mechanisms of aggressiveness, lack of focus on social and developmental factors, continuity of childhood, lack of empirics, and deficiencies in considering cognitive and behavioral factors. Equality and justice require emancipatory approaches and generalized strain theory for a more holistic understanding. Interdisciplinary approaches extend psychoanalysis by considering social and cultural contexts, integrating elements from other approaches, and recognizing interpersonal relations and social interactions. Holistic prevention efforts, through education, government, and public awareness, are needed to address the interconnectedness of crime and society. Recommendations include counseling, safe houses, training of officers, and spreading awareness, while further studies are needed to expand prevention strategies and understanding of juvenile criminal behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates the association between social media use and adolescent behavior among students at Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo High School, East Java, Indonesia, addressing the limited empirical evidence from faith-based secondary education within urban, peripheral contexts. The research seeks to identify patterns of adolescents’ social media engagement and to examine how variations in usage intensity correspond to behavioral tendencies. A quantitative correlational design was applied, utilizing primary data obtained through an online questionnaire administered to 123 active students from grades X and XI. Descriptive statistics and simple linear regression were employed to evaluate the strength and direction of the relationship between variables. The findings demonstrate a positive and statistically significant directional association (B = 0.255, p < 0.05) between social media use and adolescent behavior, indicating behavioral amplification rather than normative improvement, whereby increased engagement corresponds to more pronounced expressions of both constructive and maladaptive behaviors. Nevertheless, the model’s explanatory power remains modest (Adjusted R² = 12.4%), suggesting that adolescent behavior is predominantly shaped by additional contextual factors, including family environment, religiosity, and peer dynamics. Overall, the results underscore the dual role of social media as a medium for educational engagement and a potential source of behavioral risk, reinforcing the need for structured digital literacy initiatives and guided supervision to foster adaptive online practices among adolescents.
