Abstract

The knowledge that is always being developed is knowledge about mathematics. Mathematics is a science that can train a person's thinking and logical abilities. Apart from that, research also focuses on other research in everyday life, especially the science of problem solving. Mathematics education is about connecting, designing, and creative learning. Sometimes studying mathematics in class can feel scary compared to other subjects, especially when it involves shapes. Abstract shapes have three-dimensional geometric concepts such as cubes, blocks, pyramids, prisms, cylinders and balls which are not easily understood with explanations or two-dimensional drawings. To overcome this problem, teachers should use teaching methods that increase students' conceptual understanding and make learning problem-based (PBL). The subject of this research is class VI of SD IT Uswatun Hasanah Padang Jaya. There are 29 students. The results of the research showed that 82.86% of students felt happy, so it was concluded that the use of PBL in mathematics education made students motivated in learning, especially class VI Bilal SD IT Uswatun Hasanah Padang Jaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk menganalisis minat belajar siswa SD IT pada pembelajaran matematika. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa SD IT Uswatun Hasanah Padang Jaya Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara sebanyak 29 siswa. Instrumen yang di gunakan adalah lembar angket dengan jumlah pernyataan sebanyak 30 yang mencakup 5 indikator minat belajar siswa yaitu perasaan senang, keterterikkan siswa, keterlibatan siswa, rajin dalam belajar dan rajin dalam mengerjakan tugas matematika, serta tekun dan disiplin dalam belajar dan memiliki jadwal belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil minat belajar siswa paada tiap indikator berada pada 50 %- 75 %, pada tiap indikator pada kategori perasaan senang berada pada persentase 72,68 %, pada tiap indikator kategori ketertarikan siswa berada di persentase 69,75 %, pada tiap indikator kategori keterlibatan siswa berada pada persentase 56,70 %, pada tiap indikator kategori rajin  dalam belajar dan rajin mengerjakan tugas berada di persentasi 52,46 %, dan pada tiap indikator kategori tekun dan disiplin dalam belajar dan memiliki jadwal belajar berada di persentase 55,79 %, sehingga rata- rata persentasi dalam semua kategori di peroleh 61,47 %.

Abstract

This research aims to determine 1) Differences in students' cognitive abilities using the Problem Based Learning Model based on manipulative media, image and conventional media in mathematics learning at the Uswatun Hasanah integrated Islamic elementary school. 2) Differences in student learning activities using the Problem Based Learning Model based on manipulative media, image media and conventional mathematics learning in the integrated Islamic elementary school Uswatun Hasanah, 3)Which learning model is more effective for improving students' cognitive abilities and student learning activities. This research uses quasi-experimental research. The results of this research show that there are differences in students' cognitive abilities and activities in implementing the Problem Based Learning model based on manipulative media, image media and conventional media. Problem Based learning based on manipulative media and image media is better than conventional, but manipulative media is more suitable than image media for teaching mathematics with comparative material.   Keywords: Activities, Cognitive Abilities, Problem Based Learning  (PBL)
