Abstract

Reproductive health problem among adolescent are increases, such as child marriage, premarital sexual behavior, sexual violence, use drugs and cigarettes, balanced nutrition and access to health services. Adolescents in rural areas dominate reproductive health problems among adolescents. The family was contributing to adolescent decision to act. The objective were to improve family health maintenance task in adolescent reproductive health using family support group (FSG) method. The family support group involving 20 families with 2 meetings, that are increasing knowledge at meeting 1 and implementing FSG at meeting 2. Before and after the FSG was carried out, participants were given the opportunity to fill out a questionnaire about family health maintenance tasks. The results of this community service was increases implementation of family health maintenance tasks in improving reproductive health in adolescents. The majority of families' ability to recognize problems has increased by 85% in the good category, the majority of families' ability to make decisions has increased by 100% in the good category, families' ability to care for the family has increased by 65% in the good category, families' ability to modify the environment experienced an increase of 70% in the good category and families' ability to access health services increased by 90% in the good category. Family support groups can be one method applied to improve adolescent reproductive health through optimizing family health maintenance tasks.

Abstract

Introduction: Older people with diabetes mellitus need disease management through self-management which is quite complex because the disease will have an impact on their health condition both physically and psychologically. Based on Self Determination Theory, motivation is important component in improving psychological health and treatment effectiveness of patients with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this community service is to strive for diabetes self-care management so that blood sugar levels can be controlled reduce the risk of complications and achieve a prosperous psychological condition. Methods: The method of implementing this community service is in the form of health education, early screening, diabetes gymnastics, and family assistance in carrying out family healthcare functions. This community service was carried out at Jenggawah Public Health Center in March 2023. The participants of this community service activity are older people with diabetes mellitus. Results: There is an increase in the motivation of older people to carry out self-care activities, and the older people and families can also practice diabetes gymnastics by what has been taught. Conclusion: With optimal management behavior of diabetes mellitus in older people, the psychological aspects of the elderly with Diabetes Mellitus will improve so that further complications of this disease can be prevented.

Abstract

Introduction: Many teenagers said that smoking was their way to cope they stress experience, smoking makes them more relaxed, and they use it as an escape when they are stressed. The nicotine in cigarettes makes teenagers addicted to it, which affects their thoughts and behaviors and leads to smoking dependence.This research aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels and smoking dependence in teenagers. Methods: This research was a quantitative research using a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this research were X and XI grade students who smoked with a sample size of 45 respondents. The instrument in this research used a questionnaire. Univariate analysis using frequency distribution and percentage, bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank test. Results: The percentage of stress levels was (40.0%) detected to experience mild stress and (48.9%) detected to have moderate smoking dependence. From the spearmen rank analysis, the p-value (0.000) < α (0.05) with contingency coefficient value is 0.526, meaning that there is a strong relationship between stress levels and smoking dependence.Conclusions : Smoking dependence in teenagers can be reduced by reducing stress levels in teenagers so that teenagers are expected to manage stress well so as not to increase smoking dependence in teenagers.
