Abstract

AbstrakPengabdian ini bertujuan untuk untuk menigkatkan ilmu pengetahuan serta keterampilan kepada mitra kelompok nelayan pengelola bangsring underwater mengenai pelestarian eksositem laut dan teknik transplantasi karang menggunakan metode Rak pipa. Mitra kelompok nelayan bangsring saling bekerjasama menjaga peraian bangsring. Saat ini di Bangsring Underwater ditemui dua masalah yaitu belum adanya pendampingan secara tuntas terkait kegiatan transplantasi terumbu karang dan metode transplantasi yang dilakukan dinilai tidak ramah lingkungan. Solusi yang dilakukan adalah melakukan sosilaisasi, pelatihan/ praktik, dan pendampingan transplantasi menggunakan metode RAK dari awal hingga akhir, sekaligus memperkenalkan metode RAK. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan 3 tahap yaitu : koordinasi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian dimulai dari sosialisasi tentang pentingnya menjaga ekosistem laut, dilanjutkan dengan pengenalan dan praktek penerapan metode RAK sebagai media tranplantasi karang. Hasil pengabdian menunjukan mitra pengabdian mendapat pengetahuan tentang pentingnya menjaga ekosistem laut dan bagaimana cara teknik penanaman terumbu karang menggunakan metode RAK pipa. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 15 orang nelayan bangsring sekaligus 60 mahasiswa pengabdian masyarakat internasional Politeknik Negeri Banyuwangi yang berasal dari Indonesia, Malaysia dan China. Kesimpulannya pengabdian ini sukses dilakukan serta adanya peningkatan ilmu pengetahuan mitra. Kedepannya pengelola Bangsring underwater dan pemerintah Desa Bangsring terus melakukan perawatan terumbu karang untuk mendukung wisata edukasi Bangsring underwater. Kata kunci: Bangsring; Banyuwangi; metode RAK; terumbu karang; wisata edukasi. AbstractThis community service aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the fishermen group partners who manage the bangsring underwater regarding the preservation of marine ecosystems and coral transplantation techniques using the pipe RAK method. The bangsring fishermen group partners work together to maintain the bangsring waters. Currently in Bangsring Underwater there are two problems, namely the lack of complete assistance related to coral reef transplantation activities and the transplantation method used is considered environmentally unfriendly. The solution is to conduct socialization, training/practice, and assistance for transplantation using the RAK method from start to finish, while introducing the RAK method. This community service method is carried out in 3 stages, namely: coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Community service activities begin with socialization about the importance of maintaining marine ecosystems, followed by the introduction and practice of implementing the RAK method as a coral transplant medium. The results of the community service show that the community service partners gain knowledge about the importance of maintaining marine ecosystems and how to plant coral reefs using the pipe RAK method. This activity was attended by 15 bangsring fishermen as well as 60 international community service students from the Banyuwangi State Polytechnic from Indonesia, Malaysia and China. In conclusion, this community service was successful and there was an increase in the knowledge of the partners. In the future, Bangsring underwater managers and the Bangsring Village government will continue to maintain coral reefs to support Bangsring underwater educational tourism. Keywords: Bangsring; Banyuwangi; RAK method; coral reefs; educational tourism.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of stirrup spacing variation on the axial load capacity of short reinforced concrete columns with openings. The research focuses on square cross-section short columns measuring 12 cm × 12 cm × 45 cm, incorporating a pipe opening that reduces the cross-sectional area by 5.58%. The objective is to determine whether varying the stirrup spacing can enhance the axial compressive strength of perforated columns, which typically experience strength reduction due to the decreased cross-sectional area. The study was conducted experimentally in a laboratory using 20 MPa concrete, with longitudinal reinforcement of ø10 mm and stirrups of ø6 mm. Two types of columns were tested: solid columns (with 19 cm stirrup spacing) and perforated columns (with 8 cm stirrup spacing). Test results indicate that reducing stirrup spacing in perforated columns was not sufficiently effective to equal or surpass the axial strength of solid columns. The solid columns had an average axial compressive strength of 296.71 kN, while the perforated columns with 8 cm stirrup spacing showed a slightly lower strength of 288.92 kN, representing a decrease of 2.62%.
