Abstract

Background: Carry on age experiencing the aging process Where has an impact on the function of the body's organs decrease ( organ degeneration ) is good Because factor natural nor Because of disease. The decline that occurs influences functions in the body, one of them functions in the cavity mouth that produces saliva. The declining rate of saliva flow is caused by the existing decline function of salivary glands in the elderly. Research Objectives: Producing a Model Senam Mulut Lansia (SEMULA) in an effort to increase the function cavity mouth to rate saliva flow. Method: Research methods used in the research This is Research and Development (RD). The quasi-experimental design used study This is a pre-test - post-test, non-equivalent control group design. Taking a sample with a total sampling technique with criteria inclusion and exclusion consists of group interventions and group control. Oral exercises _ were done for 21 days for the elderly. Results: Research results This shows that there is influence before and after given treatment good in group intervention (p-value = 0.000) and control (p-value = 0.027). Test no in pairs rate salivary show the p- p-value is 0.044 (0.05), which is significant there is a difference in effectiveness between group interventions and groups control. There is possible improvement in the pre-test and post-test seen from the difference in the average of each group, where group intervention experienced an increase of 0.14 and in the group control only 0.05. Conclusion: Development of Model Senam Mulut Lansia (SEMULA) effective in increasing function rate saliva flow.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Prevalence of tooth loss due to extraction is highest in the elderly aged 65 years and over. Tooth loss means loss of tooth function therefore it affects the quality of life. It seems a reflection of a person's comfort and disability in terms of limited physical, psychological, and social functions. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between number and region of tooth loss with the quality of life in the elderly at the Margo Mukti Elderly Social Service Home, Rembang.Method: Research design was observational study with cross sectional approach. Sample size was 58 elderly people taken from the total population of 300 elderly who live at social services home. Data was collected by examining the number and region of tooth loss followed by interviews using the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by univariate and bivariate analysis, using the test chi square and Kolmogorov Spirnov to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables.Result: The results showed significance of statistical was found at relation number and region of tooth loss with quality of life (0.006). The highest number of tooth loss was in the range of 6-23 teeth. Anterior region was the most tooth lost. Most of elderly (67.2%) have good quality of life. Conclusion: There is relationship between number and region of tooth loss with quality of life related to oral health

Abstract

Developing an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age is essential due to the high levels of creativity, innovation, and energy typically possessed by young individuals. However, entrepreneurial skills and motivation among dental health students and graduate alumni at Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang remain limited due to inadequate mentorship and training. This community service program aimed to enhance entrepreneurial motivation and to strengthen knowledge and practical skills in developing dental health education media through the Denta Go model. The program was conducted on 13 August 2025 at the Graduate Building of Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang and involved 20 participants, consisting of 10 dental health students and 10 graduate alumni. The intervention included entrepreneurship education, training on the development of Denta Go educational media, and hands-on simulation of the game. The results demonstrated increased participant motivation toward entrepreneurship, along with improved knowledge and skills in producing and implementing Denta Go media. The Denta Go model was perceived as easy to produce, attractive, and commercially viable, while also serving as an effective educational tool applicable in community settings. This program indicates that integrating entrepreneurship training with innovative dental health education media can support both skill development and entrepreneurial engagement among health students and graduates.
