Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi atau ICT (Information and Communication Technology) membawa perubahan di berbagai bidang, termasuk dunia perpustakaan. Perkembangan internet dan sumber informasi baru begitu pesat, hal ini mengharuskan perpustakaan mengambil langkah-langkah untuk berubah, baik dalam hal bentuk koleksinya maupun dalam layanannya. Perpustakaan digital memberikan akses mudah kepada pengguna sumber informasi elektronik dengan alat yang menyenangkan pada waktu dan kesempatan yang tidak terbatas. Dalam konteks pengelolaan perpustakaan digital, penting untuk selalu beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi dan perubahan kebutuhan pemustaka, serta menjaga kualitas layanan. Pemustaka tidak lagi terikat secara fisik pada jam layanan perpustakaan yang mengharuskan mereka mengunjungi perpustakaan untuk mendapatkan informasi. Perpustakaan digital dapat memfasilitasi dan memecahkan persoalan keterbatasan akses tersebut. Perpustakaan digital mencakup beberapa point penting diantaranya aksesibilitas, koleksi beragam, penghematan ruang, fitur pencarian, interaktivitas, preservasi digital serta ketersediaan sumber terbuka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu suatu penelitian yang dilakukan dengan cara menekankan pada suatu aspek atau pembahasan tertentu secara mendalam yang biasanya berupa bentuk deskriptif kata atau kalimat yang sudah disusun secara terstruktur dan sistematis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan strategi penelitian studi kasus. Diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa teknologi digital di perpustakaan memainkan peran kunci dalam pengelolaan repositori Universitas Prima Medan. Hal ini memungkinkan penyimpanan, akses, dan pengelolaan koleksi digital dilakukan secara efisien. Repositori ini berfungsi sebagai sarana untuk mengorganisasi dan mengarsipkan materi akademis dan penelitian dalam bentuk digital. Library Management: A Case Study at University Library Prima Medan. The development of the internet and new information sources is so rapid that libraries must take steps to change, both in terms of the form of their collections and services. Digital libraries provide users with easy access to electronic information resources with convenient tools at unlimited times and opportunities. In digital library management, it is crucial to adapt to technological developments and changes in user needs and maintain service quality. Users are no longer physically bound to library service hours that require them to visit the library to obtain information. Digital libraries can facilitate and solve the problem of limited access. Digital libraries include several essential points, including accessibility, diverse collections, space savings, search features, interactivity, digital preservation, and open-source availability. This research uses a qualitative approach, which is conducted by emphasizing a certain aspect or discussion in depth, usually in the form of descriptive words or sentences that have been arranged in a structured and systematic manner. The research design used is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. It was concluded that digital technology in the library plays a crucial role in managing the Prima Medan University repository. It allows the storage, access, and management of digital collections to be carried out efficiently. This repository organizes and archives academic and research materials in digital form.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of the Al-Hidayah Library in developing information literacy among the people of Natambang Roncitan Village, South Tapanuli Regency. Information literacy is a crucial competency in the digital era, especially in supporting the development of inclusive and empowered rural communities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study identified three main programs run by the library, namely poetry writing classes, basic computer training, and storytelling activities. The three programs not only improve the information literacy skills of the community, but also strengthen the role of the library as a center for community learning based on social inclusion. The success of the program implementation is supported by institutional support from the village government, active community participation, and librarian competence in utilizing information technology. The findings of this study indicate that the village library model based on participation and cross-party collaboration is effective in improving literacy and community empowerment. This study provides a conceptual contribution to the development of a community literacy model, as well as practical recommendations for sustainable village library management.
