Abstract

Background. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data in education holds the promise of personalizing learning experiences and improving learning outcomes. The Arabic language, with its unique linguistic structure and complexities, poses specific challenges that these technologies could address. This study explores how AI and Big Data can be leveraged to enhance Arabic language learning, focusing on their potential to improve personalization and effectiveness across both formal and informal learning environments. Purpose. This research aims to investigate the impact of AI and Big Data on Arabic language learning, with an emphasis on the personalization of learning experiences and the enhancement of learning outcomes in both formal and informal educational settings. Method. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving students from schools, universities, and language learning centers. Participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group utilizing AI and Big Data tools, and a control group relying on traditional teaching methods. Data were collected through pre- and post-test assessments, surveys, and interviews to evaluate learning outcomes and levels of student engagement. Results. The findings indicate a notable improvement in learning outcomes in both formal and informal settings. In formal learning environments, students demonstrated a 22% increase in test scores, while in informal settings, the increase was 18%. Engagement levels were higher in formal settings, with 85% of learners reporting high involvement, compared to 75% in informal settings. Conclusion. AI and Big Data significantly enhance Arabic language learning, particularly in formal educational contexts. The study underscores the importance of tailoring AI and Big Data applications to suit different learning environments for optimal effectiveness. These technologies offer a promising avenue for improving both the personalization and efficacy of language learning.

Abstract

Background. This study explores the relationship between civic education and active political participation among students. As democracy and civic engagement become increasingly essential in modern societies, understanding how education influences political behavior is critical. Civic education aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to participate effectively in democratic processes. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to examine how civic education impacts students’ attitudes toward political participation and their actual involvement in political activities. Method. This study uses a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews. The survey was administered to 300 high school and university students, assessing their understanding of political processes, civic responsibilities, and participation in political activities. The qualitative interviews provided deeper insights into students’ personal experiences and motivations. Results. The results show that students who received more comprehensive civic education demonstrated higher levels of political awareness and were more likely to engage in activities such as voting, attending political meetings, and participating in social movements. Conclusion. The study concludes that civic education plays a significant role in fostering active political participation among students. Integrating civic education into the curriculum can enhance democratic engagement and ensure that future generations are equipped to contribute to the political landscape.

Abstract

The interpretation of riba in modern Islamic thought remains controversial, and the perspectives of al-Maraghi and Ibn Ashur have not been systematically compared through the lens of Maqasid al-Shari’ah. This study aims to reconstruct the meaning of riba through a comparative analysis of Tafsir al-Maraghi and al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir using a maqasidi and critical hermeneutic approach. Employing qualitative library research, it integrates tafsir muqaran, maqasidi analysis, and critical hermeneutics to examine primary and relevant secondary literature. Findings show both scholars affirm the absolute prohibition of riba on ethical and jurisprudential grounds, yet differ methodologically: al-Maraghi emphasizes the socio-economic harm of riba, focusing on zulm and exceptions under darurah, whereas Ibn Ashur applies a maqasidi-ijtihadi framework, evaluating transactions through fitrah, maslahah, and musawah. Synthesizing their insights yields a holistic framework that emphasizes anti-exploitation (man’ al-istighfall), wealth justice (‘adalah al-tharwah), and purposive compliance (iltizam al-maqasid), which is relevant for assessing modern financial instruments in light of Shari’ah objectives. Reconstructing Riba based on maqasid offers a contemporary, just, and anti-exploitative framework for Islamic economic jurisprudence, extending Islamic hermeneutics and providing practical guidance for modern financial regulation and practice.
