Abstract

The objective of the present research is to develop a miniature of a module of the Flexible Transfer System (STF). STF is the alternative solution of system transportation in advance manufacturing system environment which considered flexible on its components. The flexibility that can be fulfilled by STF is the flexibility in a route of transportation and the ability to be developed in the future. For these purposes, the control architecture of STF is designed to be distributed and each of the controllers has autonomy to carry out decision making based on its condition. At this research a miniature of STF that consists of a mechanical system module, an executor controller, and a manager controller has been developed, and the communication among the distributed controllers has been carried out and successfully.

Abstract

At this moment, manufacturing industries in Indonesia must have high flexibility that can quickly responds dynamic changes in production processes. Autonomous Distributed Manufacturing System (ADiMS) is one of the production system alternative that can increase system flexibility with ability to adapt dynamic changing condition in the system.ADiMS is a production system where productions elements are independent, which planning process and production control is distributed to each independent element. Each of production's element has autonomy in running the monitoring, taking the decision, controlling, and communications functions with the other production's elements. Because each of the production elements take the decision independently, there should be a coordination of decision making result so the conflict will not occur among independent production elements.In this research AdiMS concept is applied in Foundry section at PT. Baninusa Indonesia. The task is to make a sand mold producing schedule based on the schedule of melting of cast iron or cast steel so it can support cast's order and filling the customer order. This research is done with the help of application program that specialized developed so it is hoped will make results a better scheduling of making sand mold casting.

Abstract

Production line is a place for production activities that consists series of workstations. The product moves from one workstation to the next in sequence to go through the stages of the process. Products are composed of components, sub-assemblies, or assemblies. During production activities, it is possible to change materials which are part of a product structure. This happened because of the proposal from the company staff which is submitted through an engineering order. Submissions are made for technical reasons or production costs. The decision to approve or reject the engineering order is determined by designer. The approved engineering order resulted in changes to the product structure and material requirements at the workstation where the material was changed. The process for handling new materials can also change depending on the designer's decision whether to use the old or new process. It is necessary to determine whether the old process is still used or not if designer decides to use a new process. Therefore, a system is needed to manage engineering orders so that changes can be updated automatically. The engineering order management system media is a web-based application. It is vital to model the system based on real-world situations before designing a web application. The object-oriented modeling concept, which is expressed in a class diagram, is used to model the system. Web development using the Python programming language and the Django framework has been carried out successfully. Every web feature has worked as expected.

Abstract

Ketergantungan dalam negeri terhadap produk impor, terutama untuk produk-produk mekanikal masih cukup tinggi, untuk mengurangi ketergantungan tersebut maka rekayasa peniruan (reverse engineering) dipandang penting untuk dilakukan. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan rekayasa peniruan pada produk rotary joint. Rotary joint adalah komponen yang digunakan untuk mengalirkan fluida dari jalur suplai stasioneri ke bagian yang berputar pada  berbagai mesin produksi dengan tujuan untuk untuk mendinginkan, memanaskan, dan mentransfer daya pneumatik atau hidraulik. Tahapan Rekayasa peniruan yang dilakukan meliputi pengumpulan informasi produk, analisa fungsi rakitan dan sub rakitan secara komprehensip, pengukuran dan pemodelan geometrik, analisa keberfungsian, keandalan,  pembuatan  produk hasil peniruan dan  pengujian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara teknis rotary joint dapat dibuat di dalam negeri dan hasil uji kinerja rotary joint hasil rekayasa peniruan berfungsi sesuai dengan harapan pada saat digunakan pada mesin Double Drum Dryer dalam proses pembuatan produk makanan instan.
