Abstract

This research discusses the concept of Ihya al-Mawat (reviving dead soil) in the perspective of interpretation and hadith of sharia economics. Ihya al-Mawat is a term in fiqh that refers to efforts to revive or utilize land that is not owned and unused. This study refers to the sharia foundation of the Qur'an, hadith, and the views of classical and contemporary jurisprudence scholars. In the Qur'an, Ihya al-Mawat is explained as part of the encouragement to take advantage of the gift of Allah SWT for the benefit of the people, as in QS. Al-Baqarah: 29. The hadiths of the Prophet PBUH support this action, by granting ownership rights to individuals who bring dead land to life as long as the land does not conflict with the rights of others. This concept is in line with the spirit of sharia to optimize natural resources to meet the economic and social needs of the community. The study also describes various Ihya al-Mawat methods, such as fertilizing the soil, planting, making fences, and digging trenches. In addition, sharia provisions and restrictions related to land that can be used as the object of Ihya al-Mawat were conveyed. This study shows the relevance of the concept of Ihya al-Mawat in the modern context as one of the solutions in overcoming the problem of abandoned land and promoting the sustainability of the sharia-based economy

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of religious moderation in Kademangan Village, Surade District, Sukabumi Regency, particularly in the context of a community coexisting with an anti-loudspeaker Islamic boarding school (pesantren). Religious moderation, which includes attitudes of tolerance and openness in practicing religion, plays an important role in maintaining harmony and social cohesion in a heterogeneous society. This study employs a qualitative method to analyze how religious moderation is applied and the challenges faced by the community in interacting with the anti-loudspeaker pesantren, which has an exclusive approach to religious teachings. The results indicate that although significant efforts have been made to implement religious moderation through dialogue and joint social activities, major challenges remain due to the pesantren's exclusive stance and the lack of understanding of religious moderation among some members of the community. This study offers recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of religious moderation and improve relations between the community and the anti-loudspeaker pesantren.

Abstract

The banking system in Indonesia adopts a dual banking system, namely a conventional banking system and a sharia banking system that run side by side in the same regulation. The implementation of the dual banking system is regulated in Law Number 10 of 1998 concerning Banking and Law Number 21 of 2008 concerning Sharia Banking. The purpose of this system is to provide choices to the public in making transactions according to their preferences, both conventionally and according to sharia principles. However, in its implementation, the dual banking system raises various challenges that have an impact on the development of sharia banking in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the dual banking system on the development of sharia banking in Indonesia with a case study of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). In addition, this study also evaluates the suitability of the implementation of the sharia banking system with Islamic law and the obstacles faced in its implementation. The results of this study are that the implementation of the dual banking system in Indonesia has positive and negative impacts on the development of sharia banking. On the one hand, this system provides flexibility for the public in choosing banking services according to their beliefs. However, on the other hand, this system also makes it difficult for Islamic banks to develop independently and is vulnerable to the influence of the conventional banking system
