Abstract

Citizenship education in the era of globalization plays a very important role in forming national character. Lack of understanding regarding Citizenship Education causes the erosion of national character in the souls of people, especially the younger generation (students and university students). Indonesia's character crisis threatens the value of dignified national character. To resolve the problem of the declining character of the Indonesian nation, especially in the current era of globalization, treatment is needed. This research aims to provide an overview of how important Citizenship Education is in life as a shaper of national character in the era of globalization. Character education also functions to foster potential, habits and behavior, instill a sense of responsibility and leadership, and create abilities and a school environment. Civic education has functions including building participatory skills that make Indonesian citizens active, critical, intelligent and democratic, as well as building a civilized democratic culture. The results of the research show that Citizenship Education as the formation of national character in the era of globalization plays an important role, because as a result of globalization it results in the fading of national character.

Abstract

The rapid development of the era of globalization has a significant impact on various aspects of life, including the morality of the younger generation. The phenomenon of moral crisis marked by increasing deviant behavior, such as misuse of technology, promiscuity, and decreasing respect for social norms and cultural values, is a serious problem that must be addressed immediately. Amid the increasing deviant behavior and moral crisis that hit the younger generation, instilling positive characters such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and discipline is becoming increasingly relevant. This study aims to provide information on the importance of character education in preventing moral crises among the younger generation. Character education is one of the strategic solutions and forms the personality of the younger generation to have strong moral values. The results of the study show that character education is one of the main keys in preventing moral crises and forming a generation with integrity.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed the way citizens interact, learn, and participate in virtual public spaces. This transformation presents opportunities for strengthening civic values, but also poses challenges in the form of a moral crisis and low media ethics among the younger generation. This study aims to analyze how digital literacy plays a role in fostering civic awareness and how Civic Education (PPKn) education can transform in the digital era. This study used a literature review method by reviewing various scientific sources such as journals, books, and relevant research reports. The results indicate that digital literacy plays a strategic role in developing critical thinking skills, social empathy, and ethical responsibility in cyberspace. The transformation of PPKn education needs to be directed at strengthening teachers' digital competencies, innovating collaborative learning methods, and strengthening educational policies that support the integration of technology and Pancasila values. Thus, digital literacy is not merely a technical skill, but also a moral and social tool for developing intelligent, reflective, and nationally characterized digital citizens.

Abstract

Pancasila memiliki peran penting sebagai pedoman perilaku generasi muda di tengah dinamika perubahan sosial yang disebabkan oleh perkembangan teknologi, globalisasi, serta pergeseran nilai dan budaya. Perubahan yang begitu cepat menuntut generasi muda untuk mampu menyesuaikan diri tanpa kehilangan jati diri dan nilai moral yang menjadi ciri khas bangsa Indonesia. Dalam konteks ini, Pancasila berfungsi sebagai dasar moral, panduan etika, dan arah dalam bertindak, sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya degradasi karakter serta melemahnya semangat kebangsaan. Nilai-nilai luhur Pancasila seperti ketuhanan, kemanusiaan, persatuan, kerakyatan, dan keadilan menjadi landasan dalam membentuk perilaku positif, tangguh, dan berintegritas pada diri generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sejauh mana Pancasila berperan dalam membentuk perilaku generasi muda di tengah perubahan sosial yang kompleks, serta mengidentifikasi upaya penguatan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa internalisasi nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui pendidikan, keteladanan, dan budaya sekolah mampu menumbuhkan karakter positif, meningkatkan kesadaran berbangsa.
