Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the level of substitution of ground corn with fermented banana peel flour in concentrate feed and biocomplex Zn additives on the physiological status of fattening male Bali cattle. The 12 bulls that will be used in this research are aged 1-1.5 years and weigh 138-149.5kg (x=145.3kg). For the experimental research method, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were P0= Forage 70% + concentrate 30% without substitution (control) + Zn biocomplex, P1= Forage 70% + concentrate 30% (substitution of ground corn with TKPF 25%) + Zn biocomplex, P2= Forage 70 % + concentrate 30% (substitution of ground corn with TKPF50%) + Zn biocomplex. P3= Forage 70% + concentrate 30% (substitution of ground corn with KPF 75%) + Zn biocomplex. The data obtained analysis calculated using analysis of variance. Based on the research results, the average rectal temperature (OC) value was obtained for P0=38.20±0.591, P1=38.75±0.59, P2=37.87±0.60 and P3=38.46±0.89, Heart rate (times/minute) P0=70.73±5.50, P1=68.40±6.08, P2=67.40±5.29, and P3=66.07±2.51, Respiratory frequency (times/minute). P0=27.87±4.04, P1=29.53±6.42, P2=28.53±5.68, and P3=28.87±5.03, The results of the analysis showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the physiological status of bali fattening cattle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of yeast level affixes (Saccharomyces cerevisia) on the blood profile of fattening Bali cows. The cattle used were 12 Balinese cattle in the age range of 2-2.5 years, with a body weight of 156.65 - 218.85kg (x̄ 180.244 kg and KV 12%). This study used a Complete Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 3 repeats. The treatment in this study R0: Lamtoro + Pellet Feed Supplementation 1% BB, R1 : Lamtoro + Pellet Feed Supplementation 1% BB + yeast affix 1g, R2: Lamtoro + Pellet Feed Supplementation 1% BB + Yeast affix 2g, R3: Lamtoro + Pellet Feed Supplementation 1% BB + yeast affix 3g. The data obtained were analyzed using fingerprint analysis (Anova) showing an intangible effect treatment (P>0.05) on the blood profile of fattening Bali cattle. From the results of the discussion, it was concluded that fattening Bali cattle that consumed S. cerevisiae yeasts up to 3g in pelleted feed with lamtoro basal feed showed Hematocrit, Erythrocyte and Leukocyte values were within the normal range.

Abstract

Background: Timor Tengah Selatan is home to some of the most common malnutrition problems in Indonesia. The high rate of stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan is caused by food availability, climate and lack of knowledge about stunting itself. Additionally, the rural nature of the region, its high water demand, poor road infrastructure, and lack of visibility for health workers are significant factors. Therefore, there is a need for efforts to achieve success in fighting stunting, one of which is the strategy of developing freshwater fish farming to overcome stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan. Aim: The research would like to analyze strategies in developing freshwater fish farming to prevent stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan. Method: This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research, while data collection techniques are carried out by exploring journals and other information relevant to the study. Findings: The results of the study show that the strategy for developing freshwater fish farming to overcome stunting in Timor Tengah Selatan is by increasing business and creating additional income for the community as well as encouraging the development of freshwater aquaculture to replace the decline in marine fish during difficult times.  It will improve the economy of the region which is also supported by an increase in fishermen's income.

Abstract

Background: The incidence of stunting is influenced by various factors, one of which is income in the household, therefore it is necessary to make efforts to increase income, including the family farming business. Aim: This study aims to determine the contribution of family farming businesses in increasing income and the incidence of stunting at the household level. Method: This research is a type of qualitative research, while data collection techniques are carried out by exploring journals and other information relevant to the study. Findings: The results of the study show that the contribution of family farming businesses can increase income, this can have an impact on increasing the ability to buy nutritious food, thereby reducing the risk of stunting at the household level.
