Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Cardiac arrest is the sudden loss of the heart's pumping function. According to American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, approximately 350,000 adults in the United States experience a heart attack. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of basic health education on the level of knowledge of adolescents using video applications and simulation methods. Methods: This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design before and after tests without control. The research sample was taken using a general sampling technique, namely. 40 respondents. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze data to determine the effect of basic health education with video applications and simulation methods on the level of knowledge. Result: The pre-test results of providing basic health education through video applications and simulation methods were mostly in the poor category, namely not good. 24 respondents (60%). The increase in post test data points after initial training with video applications and simulation methods was good for 40 respondents (100%). The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis show a P value of (0.000). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is an influence of basic life support health education with video applications and simulation methods on adolescent knowledge level

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical stage towards adulthood, marked by physical, cognitive and emotional changes. Rapid growth, identity conflicts, and attraction to peers influence development. Online game addiction is increasingly widespread, which can disrupt emotional and intellectual intelligence. Negative impacts include mental health disorders, decreased academic achievement, and disturbances in social interactions and self-regulation. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between online game addiction and changes in emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence in middle stage adolescents at SMKN 1 Banyudono. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. This research used a total sampling technique with a sample size of 51 respondents. This research instrument uses the Game Addiction Scale (GAS) questionnaire which consists of 21 statements, an emotional intelligence questionnaire with 40 statements and an intellectual intelligence questionnaire with 6 statements. Data were analyzed using Spearman's rank test and regression test. The results of bivariate analysis using the Spearman's rank test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.005) indicating that there is a significant relationship between online game addiction and changes in emotional intelligence, and a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.005) indicates that there is significant relationship between online game addiction and changes in intellectual intelligence. And the results of multivariate analysis using the regression test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p-value <0.005). So, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between online game addiction and changes in emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence in middle stage adolescents at SMKN 1 Banyudono

Abstract

Stroke is a non-communicable disease with serious health issues, ranking as the third leading cause of death worldwide and the primary cause of physical disability. Family knowledge about stroke is crucial because the family's understanding influences preventive behavior against stroke attacks through lifestyle changes. A lack of knowledge about stroke can lead to delays in seeking treatment during an attack, depression, and unpreparedness in caring for the patient. These factors contribute to the severity of the patient's condition, recurrent stroke attacks, paralysis, and even death. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge among family caregivers about post-hospitalization stroke in the neurology clinic of Dr. Moewardi General Hospital, Surakarta. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The sampling technique applied purposive sampling with a total of 45 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire to measure caregivers' knowledge about stroke. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed the level of knowledge among family caregivers about stroke: 9 respondents (20.0%) had good knowledge, 20 respondents (44.4%) had moderate knowledge, and 16 respondents (35.6%) had poor knowledge. From these findings, it can be concluded that family caregivers of stroke patients have a moderate level of knowledge about stroke.
