Abstract

This study examines the social ideas embedded in Denny Caknan's hit songs—Kartonyono Medot Janji, Sugeng Dalu, and Los Dol—using Janet Wolff's social production theory. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research integrates intrinsic elements, such as lyrics and music videos, with extrinsic elements, including cultural, social, and personal contexts. The findings reveal that Denny Caknan's works resonate deeply with audiences due to their relatable narratives of heartbreak and resilience, rooted in the Javanese cultural preference for emotionally evocative songs. The "agent" in these works is represented by sobat ambyar (the broken-hearted community), who amplifies the cultural and emotional significance of his music. Additionally, the incorporation of visual elements inspired by modern trends, like Korean dramas, enhances the universal appeal of these songs. This analysis highlights the dynamic interplay between individual creativity and collective cultural production, emphasizing the role of societal influences in shaping artistic expression. Ultimately, Denny Caknan's music exemplifies how popular art can serve as both a reflection of cultural identity and a medium for shared emotional experiences

Kata kunci: Sêrat Rama, sastra karawitan, nilai spiritual SPIRITUAL VALUE OF SERAT RAMA IN KARAWITAN LITERATUREAbstractSerat Rama is one of Raden Ngabehi Yasadipura's works which is still popular and has a lot of value. Since the Jatisari Agreement on Saturday, 15 February 1755, sectoral cultural legitimacy has occurred for the Kraton Surakarta Hadiningrat, including the holding of a Javanese wedding ceremony. The holding of the wedding ceremony is supported by the master of ceremony (MC/pewara) who is usually called pranatacara. This study focuses on the speech styles of the Javanese wedding ceremony attendants in the Surakarta style. Data sources were professional MC at the Surakarta style wedding ceremony (1) who came from Surakarta, totaling 3 people, and (2) who came from Surakarta but became MC in Yogyakarta, totaling 3 people. Data taken from youtube. Data validity with source triangulation and data saturation. Data were analyzed by stages of data selection, categorization, comparison, synthesis, and interpretation (McMillan & Schumacher, 2001). The results of the study show that the Surakarta style pewara has three speech styles, namely lamba songs, lamba rinengga songs, and candra songs. The style of speech is recorded in the form of audio and video. Patented research results that can be guided by the wardens. The results of the research were disseminated to PEPARI (Indonesian Pewara Association), PPY (Yogyakarta Pranatacara Association), and HARPI (Yogyakarta Association of Bridal Makeup Experts).

Abstract

The degradation of local cultural values, particularly *unggah-ungguh* (Javanese etiquette), has become an urgent issue that needs to be addressed. One possible response is through engaging educational media that make learning *unggah-ungguh* easier for children to understand. This study aims to develop *Ayu lan Bagus* animation as a learning medium that incorporates the characters Ayu and Bagus to teach *unggah-ungguh* to elementary school students, while also preserving Javanese culture. The research method involves animation film development, including pre-production, production, and post-production stages. To enhance its effectiveness, the process is supported by the Design Thinking approach (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test). The animation is designed using motion graphic techniques that are feasible for small teams and offer high sustainability. The *Ayu lan Bagus* episode on *unggah-ungguh* was tested at SDN Kebonagung, Imogiri, Bantul, involving 40 students from grades 1–2 and 5 teachers. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively to measure the effectiveness and acceptance of the media. The results show that the *Ayu lan Bagus* animation successfully attracted students' interest and received positive responses from the trial participants. Teachers also provided constructive feedback, stating that this medium is effective for Javanese language learning. The conclusion of this study indicates that the *Ayu lan Bagus* animation is feasible for further development as a fun and effective learning medium to instill local cultural values in the younger generation.
