Abstract

This study analyzes various church governance models, namely Episcopal, Presbyterian, Congregational, and Synodal, using a SWOT analysis method to examine each system's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Each governance model possesses structural characteristics that impact decision-making, authority distribution, and the relationship between congregants and church leaders. The results show that each system offers a unique approach to maintaining doctrinal unity and enhancing congregational participation. However, no governance model is entirely ideal; each faces challenges in balancing centralized authority with local autonomy. Therefore, this study also proposes fundamental principles, such as collaborative leadership, distributed accountability, holistic theological formation, sustainable resource management, and responsiveness to social challenges, which can be applied to optimize church governance functions in an ever-evolving social and cultural context.

Abstract

Society 5.0 has develop many aspects of human life, one of which is the use of social media and the media contained therein. The church in its evangelization is experiencing new challenges to be able to adapt to current developments. Films are considered to be one of the evangelical media that can reach young people, judging by the high interest of young people in spending time in front of the screen. Jesus Revolution is a Christian film released in 2023, and this research will analyze how this film can be used as a medium for young people evangelism in Society 5.0. This research uses qualitative research methods with a theological reflection approach by Gordon Lynch. The data used includes primary and secondary data collected through literature study and analyzed using a narrative approach. The results of this research show that Jesus Revolution brings many Christian values ​​that are relevant to today's youth cultural issues, thus can be used as a media for evangelism in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study examines the eschatological typology of Noah’s era in Luke 17:26–27 as a theological framework for the coming of the Son of Man through a biblical intertextual approach. The central issue is how Luke utilizes the flood narrative (Genesis 6–7) as a typological paradigm to depict the sudden nature of Christ’s second coming. This qualitative research employs a literature-based study using G.K. Beale’s intertextual exegesis model, which consists of nine systematic steps for analyzing the relationship between Old and New Testament texts. Hermeneutical and exegetical approaches are applied to interpret theological meaning by tracing textual allusions and rhetorical structures. The findings reveal that Luke constructs the typology of Noah’s era not to emphasize explicit wickedness, but rather to critique a lifestyle preoccupied with worldly activities and lacking eschatological awareness. The generation in Noah’s time engaged in eating, drinking, and marrying serves as a reflection of the spiritual condition of the end-time generation that lives in spiritual indifference. The intertextual analysis demonstrates a strong use of Septuagintal allusions, with adapted narrative structures from Genesis 6–7 to affirm the certainty of eschatological judgment. The study concludes that the typology of Noah’s era functions as a prophetic-pastoral warning, urging believers to live in eschatological vigilance, with Noah portrayed as a typological figure of the righteous who perseveres in faith. The theological implication highlights the importance of eschatological ethics, which demands spiritual awareness and faith readiness in facing the sudden coming of the Son of Man.

Abstract

This research analyzes the theological meaning of the quotations from Isaiah 25:8 and Hosea 13:14 in 1 Corinthians 15:54-55, as well as the hermeneutical transformation undertaken by Paul to affirm Christ's victory over sin and death. The method employed is exegetical hermeneutics based on G.K. Beale's model with comparative intertextual analysis between Old Testament texts and their application in the New Testament context. The analysis reveals that Isaiah 25:8 proclaims the eschatological abolition of death within the context of Israel's restoration, while Hosea 13:14 articulates death's powerlessness in the face of God's sovereignty. Paul conducts a Christological reinterpretation by transforming both quotations into a declaration of soteriological victory, wherein Christ's resurrection is understood as an eschatological fulfillment that definitively defeats the power of sin and death. Christ's resurrection in Paul's perspective functions as an eschatological proclamation of victory that transforms the lives of believers. These findings confirm that Paul's hermeneutics transforms the theological meaning of Old Testament texts within a Christological framework to provide doctrinal foundation for the early Christian community.

Abstract

This study investigates the intersection of advances in artificial intelligence technology and contemporary Christology through the concept of the "Algorithmic Christ" as a theological framework. Using a constructive hermeneutic approach that integrates textual studies of classical Christology and contextual interpretations of digital reality, this study analyzes four key aspects: the manifestation of the incarnation in the virtual world; the algorithmic model of consciousness for understanding the duality of Christ's nature; the function of algorithms as a means of divine revelation; and the pastoral impact on the life of faith in the digital age. The results reveal that AI technology does not replace conventional Christology but rather opens a hermeneutical perspective that enriches the concept of the incarnation and the universal presence of Christ. Algorithms are considered a medium of revelation that reveals divine patterns in digital structures while still acknowledging the limitations in representing transcendent mystery. Pastoral implications include the urgency of algorithmic literacy, the rejection of algorithmic bias, and the development of a spirituality that can navigate the complexities of the digital world. The contribution is the development of a "digital theology" that is responsive to the challenges of contemporary technology while maintaining the integrity of the Christian message.   Abstrak Penelitian ini menginvestigasi pertemuan antara kemajuan teknologi kecerdasan buatan dan kristologi masa kini melalui konsep "Kristus Algoritmik" sebagai kerangka teologis. Dengan pendekatan hermeneutika konstruktif yang mengintegrasikan kajian tekstual kristologi klasik dan interpretasi kontekstual realitas digital, studi ini menganalisis empat aspek kunci: manifestasi inkarnasi dalam dunia virtual; model kesadaran algoritmik untuk memahami dualitas kodrat Kristus; fungsi algoritma sebagai sarana wahyu ilahi; serta dampak pastoral dalam kehidupan iman di zaman digital. Hasil penelitian mengungkap bahwa teknologi AI bukan pengganti kristologi konvensional, melainkan membuka perspektif hermeneutis yang memperkaya konsep inkarnasi dan kehadiran universal Kristus. Algoritma dipandang dapat menjadi medium revelasi yang mengungkap pola-pola divine dalam struktur digital, meski tetap mengakui limitasi dalam merepresentasikan misteri transenden. Implikasi pastoral meliputi urgensi literasi algoritmik, penolakan bias algoritma, dan pengembangan spiritualitas yang mampu bernavigasi kompleksitas digital. Kontribusinya adalah pengembangan "teologi digital" yang responsif terhadap tantangan teknologi kontemporer sambil memelihara integritas pesan Kristiani.

Abstract

Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) di sekolah Kristen tidak hanya berfungsi menyampaikan pengetahuan teologis, tetapi juga menjadi sarana pembentukan karakter dan paradigma hidup yang berlandaskan iman. Permasalahan yang muncul adalah bagaimana PAK mampu menghadapi tantangan pengaruh filsafat sekular, seperti humanisme dan postmodernisme, sekaligus mewujudkan komunitas kasih yang otentik di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran PAK dalam membentuk watak, moralitas, dan spiritualitas peserta didik melalui interaksi sosial yang holistik dalam komunitas sekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, yang menelaah konsep sosiologi pendidikan Kristen, filsafat pendidikan alkitabiah, dan strategi pedagogis kontekstual. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keteladanan guru, penerapan prinsip iman Kristen, dan pembelajaran yang menumbuhkan kasih serta kepedulian sosial mampu membangun komunitas pendidikan yang aman, ramah, dan berkarakter Kristus. Disimpulkan bahwa sosiologi PAK harus dipahami sebagai interaksi sosial yang berlandaskan kasih, yang mendorong transformasi spiritual dan sosial peserta didik, sehingga sekolah Kristen dapat berfungsi sebagai komunitas kasih yang mendukung pertumbuhan akademik sekaligus pembentukan karakter Kristiani yang otentik.

Abstract

The escalating degradation of the earth demands early environmental stewardship, which should be instilled through Christian education for children. However, church-based Christian education curricula often lack integrated content on environmental sustainability. The decreasing engagement of children with nature contributes to a generation less concerned with the care of creation. This study aims to explore the concept of ecological theology based on Revelation 11:18 and examine its relevance to children’s Christian education. The research employs a hermeneutical approach to the biblical text and a qualitative descriptive analysis of educational practices within the church. The findings reveal three key insights. First, Revelation 11:18 highlights a sharp contrast between those who faithfully fulfill God's mandate and those who destroy the earth; in the final judgment, God rewards those who care for the earth and punishes its destroyers. Second, environmental stewardship is an expression of faithful obedience and a reflection of human nature as the imago Dei, participating in the restoration of creation. Third, children’s Christian education plays a strategic role in shaping ecological awareness through faith-based curricula and sustainable environmental projects. This study concludes that integrating ecological theological values into children’s Christian education is essential. Churches must develop curricula that instill responsibility to care for and restore creation in accordance with God’s will. Abstrak Kerusakan bumi yang semakin masif menuntut upaya pelestarian lingkungan yang ditanamkan sejak dini melalui pendidikan Kristen anak. Namun, kurikulum pendidikan Kristen di gereja masih kurang mengintegrasikan materi mengenai kelestarian lingkungan. Aktivitas anak yang semakin minim di alam turut membentuk generasi yang kurang peduli terhadap keberlanjutan ciptaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggali konsep teologi ekologis berdasarkan Wahyu 11:18 dan mengkaji relevansinya bagi pendidikan Kristen anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah hermeneutik terhadap teks Alkitab serta analisis deskriptif kualitatif terhadap praktik pendidikan anak di gereja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: pertama, Wahyu 11:18 menegaskan kontras antara mereka yang setia menjalankan mandat Allah dan yang merusak bumi; Allah memberikan upah kepada yang memelihara bumi dan menghukum perusaknya pada hari penghakiman. Kedua, pemeliharaan lingkungan merupakan wujud kesetiaan iman dan refleksi natur manusia sebagai gambar Allah yang turut serta dalam pemulihan ciptaan. Ketiga, pendidikan Kristen anak berperan strategis dalam membentuk kesadaran ekologis melalui kurikulum berbasis iman dan proyek lingkungan berkelanjutan. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai teologi ekologis dalam pendidikan Kristen anak. Gereja perlu menyusun kurikulum yang menanamkan tanggung jawab untuk menjaga dan memulihkan ciptaan sesuai kehendak Allah.
