Abstract

Financial statements are an accounting product that remains a major challenge in the financial performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It is still common to find MSMEs, even those with substantial turnover, lacking financial statements. However, every MSME operator, whether online or offline, is required to report their taxable income. The amount of tax owed can be determined if business owners have an income statement. CV Sinama, a skincare business, is one example that lacks financial statements and has not reported taxes. Based on this issue, the objective of the community service was to train in digital financial reporting (using spreadsheets) and online tax reporting. The results of the community service show that partners have been able to prepare and calculate profit and loss statements. The profit figures are used as the basis for calculating the amount of tax owed.CV Sinama is now able to prepare financial statements and determine the amount of corporate tax owed.

Abstract

The training activity on the use of an accounting website for financial management conducted for UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) “Bu Gan” in Tanjungrejo Sub-district, Sukun District, Malang City shows that business owners have been able to manage their finances independently. However, financial management issues persist, particularly the difficulty in separating personal and business needs. This prolonged problem leads to challenges in evaluating business performance, causing stagnation in business growth. To address this issue, the community service team provided a solution in the form of training on the use of an accounting website, which is expected to help business owners record every income and expense. The website also generates financial reports to assist in understanding business performance. In addition, the team conducted monitoring activities to identify obstacles faced in independent financial management.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted at UMKM Bu Gan, located in Mergan Village, Malang City, with the objective of improving the quality and competitiveness of its frozen food products through the provision of a vacuum sealer machine. The partner’s main challenge was limited packaging capabilities, as the products were previously wrapped using simple plastic packaging, resulting in low durability and anunattractive product appearance. To address this issue, the service team provided training on the importance of hygienic, informative, and appealing packaging, along with hands-on demonstration of  the vacuum sealer machine’s operation. The results indicate that UMKM Bu Gan is now able to operate the machine independently, producing neater and more professional packaging with extended shelf life. The application of this simple technology is expected to strengthen consumer trust, expand marketing opportunities both offline and online, and increase the overall selling value of frozen food products.
