Abstract

This research aims to improve the mastery of English vocabulary of grade XI MIA2 students at SMA Negeri 7 Tual through digital storytelling techniques. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) research which is carried out in two cycles to determine the significant improvement in students' vocabulary mastery after the application of this method. Data collection techniques use tests, questionnaires, observations, documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively on all research data. The results of the data analysis showed that the proportion of students who met the minimum completeness criteria increased significantly from the first cycle to the second cycle. The positive response of students to the use of Digital Storytelling in English learning also confirms this finding. Thus, it can be concluded that the Digital Storytelling technique is an effective approach in improving vocabulary mastery and providing a more engaging and interactive learning experience for students

Abstract

Salah satu aspek yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa adalah penguasaan kosakata. Penguasaan kosakata yang baik akan memungkinkan siswa untuk memahami teks secara lebih komprehensif dan mengungkapkan pikiran mereka dengan lebih efektif..Jenis penelitian ini adalah desain Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research/PTK). Berdasarkan hasil skor kosa kata siswa, ditemukan bahwa skor kosa kata siswa meningkat. Sebagian besar siswa mendapatkan nilai yang baik pada setiap akhir siklus. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada pretest siklus I adalah 51,4, dan nilai rata-rata pada posttest siklus I adalah 66,1 sedangkan pada posttest siklus II adalah 69,4). Penggunaan permainan kosakata "Vocab Mania" efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VIII-5 di SMP Negeri 9 Ambon. Para siswa menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman dan penggunaan kosakata setelah berpartisipasi dalam permainan ini. Dalam implementasi permainan kosakata, guru perlu memastikan bahwa permainan ini disesuaikan dengan tingkat pemahaman dan kebutuhan siswa.
