Abstract

Pembangunan berkelanjutan telah menjadi salah satu capaian penting di beberapa perguruan tinggi di Indonesia termasuk di Universitas Pembangunan Negeri (UPN) Veteran Jawa Timur. Program tersebut menuntut kampus untuk melakukan pengelolaan sampah yang efektif dan berkelanjutan, sehingga analisis sistem tata kelola sampah perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada sistem pengelolaan sampah di Fakultas Teknik, UPN Veteran Jawa Timur. Pengambilan data meliputi berat, volume, komposisi, dan sistem pewadahan sampah. Data timbulan dan pewadahan sampah dievaluasi berdasarkan pada standar yang berlaku di Indonesia. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa jumlah tempat sampah yang ada di Fakultas Teknik, UPN Veteran Jawa Timur belum dapat menampung timbulan sampah harian. Selain itu, sekitar 24% wadah tidak sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peningkatan fasilitas dan sistem pengelolaan sampah terutama dalam proses pewadahan.

Abstract

With the rapid digitalization, Indonesia has seen an increase in internet users and the growth of sectors like online gaming. This phenomenon has led to new consumption patterns, such as purchasing virtual items through in-game top-ups, which can have negative effects. Based on several studies and the urgency from an Islamic economic perspective, this research aims to analyze the influence of Islamic consumption understanding, price, and rational and emotional motives on the decision to purchase mobile games’ online virtual item. The method used is descriptive quantitative with binary logistic regression analysis. The results show that Islamic consumption understanding has a significantly negative influence on purchase decisions, while emotional motives have a significantly positive influence. However, price and rational motives do not show a significant impact. This study highlights the importance of the younger generation, especially Generation Z, in considering Islamic consumption principles when making purchase decisions, rather than relying solely on emotions.   Abstrak Dengan pesatnya digitalisasi, Indonesia mengalami peningkatan pengguna internet dan pertumbuhan sektor-sektor seperti game online. Fenomena ini memunculkan pola konsumsi baru, seperti pembelian item virtual melalui top-up dalam game, yang dapat berdampak negatif. Berdasarkan beberapa kajian dan urgensinya dalam perspektif ekonomi Islam, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemahaman konsumsi Islami, harga, serta motif rasional dan emosional terhadap keputusan pembelian barang virtual pada mobile game. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi logistik biner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsumsi Islam mempunyai pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian, sedangkan motif emosional mempunyai pengaruh positif signifikan. Namun harga dan motif rasional tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan. Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya generasi muda, khususnya Generasi Z, dalam mempertimbangkan prinsip konsumsi Islami ketika mengambil keputusan pembelian, dibandingkan hanya mengandalkan emosi.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah di perguruan tinggi memiliki peran penting dalam menekan emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK). Penelitian ini mengkaji emisi karbon dari proses pengelolaan sampah di Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) Veteran Jawa Timur pada tahun 2024. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah tingginya kontribusi pembuangan ke tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA) terhadap total emisi dan rendahnya tingkat daur ulang di lingkungan kampus. Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data sekunder dari catatan internal universitas mengenai timbulan, komposisi, dan volume sampah yang didaur ulang maupun dibuang ke TPA. Perhitungan emisi dilakukan menggunakan faktor emisi dari World Resources Institute (WRI) yang mencakup CO₂, CH₄, dan N₂O dari tahapan transportasi, pembuangan, dan daur ulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total emisi karbon dari pengelolaan sampah kampus mencapai 15.315,48 kg CO₂eq/tahun, dengan pembuangan ke TPA menyumbang lebih dari 99% emisi, sedangkan transportasi dan daur ulang memiliki kontribusi relatif kecil. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya strategi pengurangan sampah ke TPA melalui pengolahan sampah organik dan peningkatan efisiensi daur ulang di kampus.

Abstract

The animal feed industry emits air pollutants from combustion processes in blazes, boilers, and generators, which can harm the environment. Chimneys serve as the main control point to ensure these emissions are properly managed. Therefore, it is important to assess whether the chimney characteristics at PT. XYZ's blaze, boiler, and generator facilities comply with applicable environmental regulations. Field observations and Likert-scale assessments were carried out to evaluate chimney infrastructure and supporting facilities against the Decree of the Head of Bapedal No. 205 of 1996 and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 11 of 2021. Parameters evaluated included chimney size, height, sampling point locations, and the presence of supporting facilities such as safety railings, ladders, working platforms, and electricity sources. Of the 18 chimneys examined, the average compliance level was 58% classified as “Fair”, with 7 chimneys rated “Good,” 5 rated “Fair,” 5 rated “Poor,” and 1 rated “Very Poor.” These results show that PT. XYZ has shown awareness by providing sampling facilities that meet technical standards, but remaining deficiencies reduce overall regulatory compliance. Recommended improvements include upgrading chimney facilities and infrastructure to enhance regulatory compliance and reduce operational risks during emission sampling.

Abstract

The animal feed industry generates wastewater from boiler operations, vehicle disinfection activities, and laboratory processes. Wastewater from these sources contains TDS, TSS, pH, ammonia, fluoride, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), which have the potential to pollute the environment. PT X, as one of the animal feed industries, operates a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to ensure that the discharged wastewater complies with applicable regulations and is therefore environmentally safe. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the WWTP at PT X using a quantitative method with descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the WWTP at PT X is still operating effectively in reducing most pollutant parameters. However, for one parameter, fluoride, the removal performance is only at a “moderately effective” level. Therefore, to improve the effectiveness of fluoride removal, one recommended approach is to replace the flow system of the coagulant and flocculant dosing tank with a dosing pump. Dosing pumps provide a more stable and effective delivery of coagulants and flocculants.

Abstract

Air quality is an important aspect in maintaining environmental sustainability in industrial work areas. In facilities that rely on backup power systems such as generator sets, emission release remains a potential source of air pollution, particularly during operation. This study investigates ambient air quality, noise levels, and models the potential dispersion of genset emissions at PT. X. Ambient air, emission, and noise measurements were conducted directly in the field. The results showed that all ambient air quality and noise parameters were below the applicable regulatory limits, with differences influenced by surrounding activities, location characteristics, and genset operation schedules. Dispersion modeling using AERMOD indicated that the highest pollutant concentrations occurred near the emission source and decreased with distance, influenced by wind direction and speed. The modeling results suggest that the environmental impact of genset emissions remains low and within acceptable limits.

Abstract

The handling of Hazardous and Toxic (B3) waste needs a storage system that satisfies technical criteria in an effort to reduce environmental damage and health hazards. This study aims to evaluate the level of compliance of the Temporary Sotrage Area (TPS) for B3 waste at PT. X with the applicable technical requirements. The research was conducted through field observations, measurement of technical parameters, and examination of licensing documents and B3 waste management records. The results indicate that the compliance level of the B3 waste TPS reached 95.88%, and falls into the highest performance category. Several issues were still identified, particularly in the aspects of B3 waste accumulation and the provision of symbols and labels. Therefore, this study recommends the implementation of periodic internal audits and improved compliance with B3 waste packaging and labeling standards.
