Abstract

Social media has a bad impact on young children if it is not supervised by parents. Viewings on social media such as TikTok, YouTube shorts and Instagram reels are not intended for children, so young children should not be allowed to access them. If young children access social media without being accompanied by parents or adults, it will have an impact on the development of the child's soul, character and habit of children continuing to watch shows on social media. The development of a child's soul is a good example for children because it is in the golden age stage where stimulation is good. In social media the regulations are not yet strict because many are not suitable for viewing by children, videos circulating on social media are simply uploaded without thinking about the negative impacts if accessed by children. The role of father and mother is very important for children who access the internet and social media, so they need to be supervised, limited to viewing appropriate to the child's age, and provided understanding and explanation when children watch social media by parents because at an early age, the critical stage for children is always asking about anything. Literature was obtained from Google Scholar, Mendeley, and references by the author. The publication documents used as references are based on the year 2020-2023.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perception of parents in RA Mubarokah towards parenting in the digital era. The research method used is descriptive narrative, which allows researchers to explore the stories and experiences of parents related to the challenges and advantages of parenting in a digital context. In an era where information and communication technology is rapidly developing, parents often face dilemmas in balancing the use of gadgets and children's social interactions. Through in-depth interviews and observations, this study revealed that parents are aware of the importance of guiding children in using technology positively, but are also worried about negative impacts such as the influence of inappropriate content and gadget addiction. The results of the study show that parents in RA Mubarokah apply a more open and communicative parenting approach, where discussions about the use of technology become an important part of parenting. They strive to create healthy boundaries between digital media use and physical activity, and encourage children to engage in activities that support social and emotional development. This research provides insight into how parents' perceptions adapt to changing times and how they try to carry out their role as wise educators and caregivers in the midst of increasingly rapid technological currents. These findings are expected to be a reference for educators and parents in developing effective parenting strategies in the digital era, as well as encourage further discussions on the integration of technology in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of the use of the TikTok application on the mental health of children in RA Mubarokah through a qualitative descriptive approach. The TikTok application, as a popular social media platform, offers a variety of content that can affect children's psychological development. This research method involves in-depth interviews with parents, teachers, and children as well as observations to collect data about their interactions with the app. The results of the study show that the use of TikTok has both positive and negative impacts. On the one hand, children stated that this app provides entertainment and boosts creativity through various challenges and interesting content. However, on the other hand, there are concerns about social pressure, social comparisons, and the negative impact on children's self-esteem due to exposure to unrealistic content. In conclusion, the TikTok app can be a beneficial tool for children if used wisely. The existence of the Tiktok application in Indonesia has a positive and negative impact, namely getting domestic and foreign information quickly, but it has a negative impact, namely children can reach and even watch continuously, which results in children's growth and development not being optimal, and children do not have to socialize with the environment. Collaboration between parents, educators, and children is needed to create a healthy digital environment, so that the positive impact can be maximized and the negative impact is minimized. This research provides important insights for the development of education and psychology policies to support children's mental health in the digital era.
