Abstract

Driving teachers are learning leaders who are expected to be agents of change in student-centered education, by developing their potential holistically according to their learning needs. After going through education, driving teachers are expected to be able to implement their competencies through real action. However, there are indications that driving teachers only carry out concrete actions to fulfill the educational requirements for driving teachers. Therefore, researchers raised this issue to get an idea of ​​the role and contribution of driving teachers  in their competence as driving teachers in implementing the implementation of independent learning at SMKN 1 Barumun. This research aims to describe how the competency of driving teachers is implemented in implementing independent learning at SMKN 1 Barumun. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The objects discussed in this research are school principals and driving teachers. Data was collected through observation and interview techniques. The research results show that there are four roles of driving teachers in curriculum implementation. The four roles include: first, the driving teacher acts as a change agent; second, the driving teacher facilitates other teachers as creators of discussion and collaboration forums; third, the driving teacher acts as a motivator; and fourth, the driving teacher ensures a pleasant learning atmosphere. In conclusion, the driving teacher has implemented his competence in implementing independent learning, although consistency is still needed in its implementation.

Abstract

Educational institutions are official institutions that play an important role in passing on knowledge, culture and religion as well as being the main institutions that hold responsibility for the formation and development of the character of the nation's generations. Educational institutions have long been known by the world's population as institutions that inherit values ​​and knowledge so that generations are able to take responsibility for their every action. Education is the learning of knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people that is transferred from one generation to the next. In Law no. 20 of 2003 has stated that education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills needed by themselves and society, nation and state. The good civilization of a nation can be seen from the number of problems experienced by that nation, or it can be seen from the level of prosperity of its people. The younger generation is the party who most determines the condition of a nation in the future. A good and quality young generation can be created through the education process. Through education, we will create a generation that has great abilities in overcoming various problems of a nation.

Abstract

For the realization of a good education, the things mentioned above cannot be avoided. So for this we need people who are responsible for education costs, such as parents/guardians, and there is responsiveness from the authorities such as Baitul Mal, social services, benefactors and so on. In the world of education, according to the author's observations, there are parents who are quite capable of paying for education, but their children are not able or are not interested, on the other hand, there are children who have the talent and interest in pursuing the highest education, but their parents do not have the ability, so for students like this needs to be paid attention to in order to achieve competent regeneration. Thus, the formulation of this article is: what are the criteria for students, how Baitul Mal contributes assistance to underprivileged students and students. This article uses a documentation study with a qualitative approach. This discussion focuses on Baitul Mal's contribution to education. This research needs to be highlighted because it is still relevant today, until the solution is found.
