Abstract

This research examines the application of formative assessment to physics learning to increase students' conceptual understanding. This literature review includes publications from 2014 to 2024 taken from Google Scholar and GARUDA, with 14 articles taken with appropriate criteria. The research results show that using technology-based formative assessments, such as Google Forms, TikTok videos, multimedia modules, and web-assisted assessment systems, effectively increases students' conceptual understanding and motivation. This approach provides fast and precise feedback, identifies misconceptions, and supports students' scientific argumentation abilities. Overall, applying formative assessment and integrating technology in physics learning is important in deepening students' understanding of concepts.

Abstract

The community service program involves career planning training designed to enhance students' readiness for the workforce at SMKI Anharul Ulum Blitar. This location was chosen due to its connection with PT. Blitar Chocolate Village. Unemployment caused by inadequate career planning and work readiness can be mitigated through this socialization and training. The objective is to equip soon-to-graduate students with the knowledge and skills to develop comprehensive career plans, thus improving their future work readiness and reducing the risk of unemployment. The benefit of this initiative is that both students and the school gain insights into effective career planning, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workforce. As a result, SMKI Anharul Ulum Blitar students will be better informed about career planning and able to take proactive steps toward their future careers after graduation. Career planning is essential, particularly for vocational students, as it helps eliminate uncertainty when entering the job market and contributes to reducing unemployment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to assess high school students' problem-solving abilities in the subject of physics on renewable energy using the Plomp development model. The study was conducted through three main stages, namely (1) preliminary research to analyze needs (2) prototyping phase to design and validate the assessment instrument, and (3) assessment phase to conduct limited trials and product revisions. The assessment instrument was developed by containing essay questions based on real contexts that require critical, analytical, and creative thinking skills. The results of expert validation showed that the assessment was in the valid category with an average percentage score of 0.93. Trials on high school students showed that the assessment was able to measure variations in problem-solving abilities more comprehensively. Thus, this HOTS assessment based on the Plomp model is effective for evaluating physics problem-solving abilities.
