Abstract

Sunscreen is a cosmetic was used with the aim of actively reflecting or absorbing sunlight, especially in areas with ultraviolet and infrared wave emissions, so as to prevent skin disorders due to UV rays. This educational activity aims to describe students' knowledge regarding the importance of using sunscreen to prevent skin cancer at Al-Furqon Vocational School, Banjarmasin Utara, Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan. The activity was carried out using the socialization method using Power Point Presentation (PPT) and leaflets to present material related to the importance of using sunscreen and how to use it.  a questionnaire was used after giving the material to measure the level of knowledge of the students, Based on the pre-test results, only 15 out of 17 students answered the questions correctly, then the post-test results showed that 17 students answered all the questions correctly. Community Service Activities in the context of providing information and education to vocational school students about the use of sunscreen to prevent skin cancer have been carried out well and have increased students' knowledge regarding the importance of using sunscreen in everyday life.

Abstract

Limbah organik, termasuk kulit jeruk, merupakan salah satu penyumbang signifikan terhadap jumlah sampah di Indonesia. Data dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan menunjukkan bahwa limbah organik menyumbang sekitar 60% dari total limbah domestik. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan keterampilan kepada remaja Desa Karang Bunga dalam memanfaatkan limbah kulit jeruk sebagai bahan pembuatan lilin aromaterapi yang bernilai ekonomis. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 21 peserta dari kalangan remaja tingkat SMP dan SMA. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan pembuatan lilin aromaterapi, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan sebanyak 4,76% dalam pengetahuan peserta setelah diberikan informasi. Selain itu, survei kepuasan menunjukkan bahwa bahwa 8% merasa “Cukup Puas”, 27% merasa “Puas” dan 65% merasa “Sangat Puas”.dengan kegiatan ini. Program ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pengelolaan limbah organik, tetapi juga membuka peluang kewirausahaan bagi generasi muda di desa tersebut dan meningkatkan edukasi serta keterampilan remaja Desa Karang Bunga dalam memanfaatkan limbah kulit jeruk sebagai bahan pembuatan lilin aromaterapi yang bernilai ekonomis. Kata Kunci: Limbah Kulit Jeruk, Lilin Aromaterapi, Pengabdian Masyarakat, Peningkatan Pengetahuan, Survei Kepuasan  Organic waste, including orange peels, is a significant contributor to the amount of waste in Indonesia. Data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry shows that organic waste contributes around 60% of total domestic waste. This community service aims to provide education and skills to teenagers in Karang Bunga Village in using orange peel waste as material for making economically valuable aromatherapy candles. This activity was attended by 21 participants from junior high and high school-level teenagers. The methods used include counseling, training in making aromatherapy candles, as well as evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The evaluation results showed a significant increase of 4.76% in participants' knowledge after being given information. In addition, the satisfaction survey showed that 8% felt "quite satisfied," 27% felt "satisfied," and 65% felt "very satisfied" with this activity. This program not only increases awareness of the importance of managing organic waste, but also opens up entrepreneurial opportunities for the young generation in the village and increases the education and skills of teenagers in Karang Bunga Village in using orange peel waste as material for making economically valuable aromatherapy candles.
