Abstract

Lada (Piper nigrum L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan dari sektor perkebunan. memiliki potensi besar dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia karena mempunyai kontribusi terhadap devisa Negara. Lada merupakan komoditas ekspor potensial di Indonesia. Adanya ekspor lada Indonesia di pasar global akan meningkatkan devisa Negara dan menggerakkan perekonomian dalam negeri khususnya produsen atau petani lada, karena 96% perkebunan lada di Indonesia merupakan perkebunan rakyat. Pengembangan tanaman perkebunan baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas masih sangat dimungkinkan. Peluang tertuju pada pengembangan pertanian di wilayah sub optimal (lahan rawa pasang surut), karena potensi lahan cukup luas. Tanjung Jabung Timur merupakan wilayah pasang surut yang potensial untuk pengembangan tanaman Lada. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kesesuaian lahan untuk pengembangan lada di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kelas kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman lada di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur umumnya sesuai marginal (S3). Seluas 304.226 ha (61,64%) wilayah dengan factor pembatas; pH kecil dari 4,8 dan 4,0, drainase terhambat, kedalaman bahan sulfidik 40-75 cm. Seluas 183.352 ha (37,14%) lahan tidak sesuai (N), dengan factor pembatas; drainase sangat terhambat, ketebalan gambut 200-300 cm, dan kedalaman bahan Sulfidik kurang dari 40 cm. Berdasarkan faktor pembatas untuk pengembangan Lada di Tanjung Jabung Timur, maka teknologi yang diperlukan adalah; ameliorasi lahan dengan pemberian kapur dan bahan organik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan retensi hara, pemupukan lengkap untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan hara, pengaturan sistem tata air tanah dan tinggi permukaan air tanah harus di atas lapisan bahan sulfidik.

Abstract

Evaluation of Nutrient Status and Recommendations for Fertilization of paddy rice. The assessment was carried out in Batin III Ulu District, Bungo Jambi Regency with a rice field area of 655 ha spread across 8 (eight) villages. This study aims to evaluate the nutrient status and determine fertilization recommendations in paddy rice. The study used a description method based on field observations and laboratory analysis. Examples of composite soils resulting from the field, analyzed the nutrient status of N, P, and K as well as soil pH with the Paddy Soil Test Kit. Based on the value of the N, P, K nutrient status test, it is determined to recommend fertilizer application. N fertilizer during the growth period is applied 3 (three) times, namely at planting time (before 14 DAP), without the use of LCC (leaf colour chart), the second fertilization on active tillering stadia (21-28 DAP), and the third on flower primordia stadia (50 days after planting). The results of the nutrient status analysis with STD, the P and K nutrient status of the soil are grouped into three classes, namely low, medium, and high. From the P and K status classes of the soil, recommendations for fertilization P (SP-36) and K (KCl) are made. The results showed that the obstacle to increasing the productivity of paddy rice in this area is that the content of N, P and K is generally low, and the soil pH ranges from 5-6. Therefore, to increase the productivity of paddy rice yields, it is recommended to apply inorganic fertilizers (N, P, and K) and the addition of organic matter. Based on the results of soil analysis and the nutrient status of paddy soils, site-specific N, P and K fertilization recommendations were obtained. Fertilizers used in the form of Urea, SP-36 and KCl, without the addition of organic matter and with the addition of organic matter.

Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of goat manure and rice husk charcoal distribution on oil palm cultivation in former mining lands. The objective is to determine the optimal combination of goat manure and rice husk charcoal that enhances the growth of oil palm plants on these lands. Conducted in Pijoan Village, Muaro Jambi District, Jambi Province in 2021, the research utilized a completely randomized block design with 8 treatments and 3 repetitions, yielding 24 experimental units. The eight treatments consisted of varying ratios of goat manure to rice husk charcoal: (P1) 150 g goat manure + 325 g rice husk charcoal per planting hole, through (P8) 325 g goat manure + 150 g rice husk charcoal per planting hole. Results indicated that the combination of 325 g goat manure + 150 g rice husk charcoal (P8) provided the best outcomes in plant height, stem diameter, leaf balance at the third frond, and total frond count on reclaimed land.
