Abstract

Standard language has an important role in the world of education, especially among students as the next generation of intellectuals. However, the implementation of standard language in students' daily lives still faces various challenges. This research aims to explore and analyze the factors that influence the use of standard language among students. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews, observation and document study. The research results show that the main challenges include a lack of understanding of standard language rules, the dominance of regional languages and informal languages, as well as low student motivation and awareness in applying standard language, especially in formal situations. Apart from that, the social environment, such as the communication culture on campus and the use of social media, also contributes to students' language patterns. This research recommends synergy between educational institutions, lecturers and students to improve standard language competence through training programs, familiarization and integration of standard language into academic activities. With these steps, it is hoped that the use of standard language can be implemented more optimally as a symbol of respect for cultural and scientific identity.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the application of the value of monotheism in shaping the character of students within the North Sumatra State Islamic University (UINSU). Through an in-depth study of the implementation of monotheism values in students' daily lives, this research seeks to reveal the extent to which these values have been internalized and their impact on students' quality of life. It is hoped that the research results can contribute to the development of a character development program based on monotheistic values at UINSU. In the context of rapid modernization, the value of monotheism is often considered less relevant. This research aims to test this assumption by examining the implementation of the value of monotheism at UINSU. By analyzing how these values are implemented and their impact on students, it is hoped that this research can fill the research gap regarding the relevance of the value of monotheism in the context of contemporary higher education.

Abstract

Across the world, including in Indonesia, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on adolescent mental health. The focus of this study is how online learning impacts adolescents' mental health during the pandemic. Students of Public Health Science Study Program were surveyed using a qualitative approach through literature review and structured interviews. The results show that some of the main factors affecting mental health are social isolation, academic pressure, and lack of access to technology. Adolescents may experience stress, anxiety, depression and learning fatigue. In addition, when they serve as a source of support or as a trigger for adverse social comparisons, social media has controversial effects. Online learning has become more difficult due to issues such as poor signal, expensive internet quotas, and limited learning facilities. However, the pandemic also gives us an opportunity to be more aware of the importance of mental health. Some teenagers have started to cope with stress by exercising, pursuing hobbies, and getting closer to their families. According to research, governments and educational institutions should provide counseling services, reduce academic load, and improve teacher training. So while the pandemic has caused a lot of problems, taking the right actions can help mitigate its effects and promote greater awareness about the importance of maintaining teenagers' mental health.

Abstract

Fasting is abstaining from everything that breaks the fast, such as orgasm, stomach, and farji (genitals), from dawn to sunset, with a few conditions. This research aims to examine the regulation of a healthy lifestyle through fasting according to Islamic teachings, both from a spiritual and medical perspective. The method used is a literature study with a systematic search of primary sources such as the Qur'an, hadith, as well as scientific references and scholars related to fasting and health. The results of the study show that fasting not only has a ritual and spiritual dimension, but also provides great benefits for physical and mental health. In Islam, fasting is integrated as part of a healthy lifestyle that includes self-control, balanced food consumption, and increased spiritual awareness. In addition, fasting is scientifically proven to be able to help the body detoxify process, strengthen the immune system, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. Islam comprehensively provides guidance for a healthy life that is balanced between physical and spiritual aspects, and emphasizes the importance of moderation and self-awareness in maintaining health. Thus, fasting in Islam plays a role as a form of worship that unites the dimensions of physical, spiritual, and social health.
