Abstract

The fisheries sector plays a crucial role in global economic development, particularly for food security and the well-being of coastal communities. It is a cornerstone of national economic development for citizens whose economic growth depends on the primary sector. In the context of fisheries, vulnerability arises from a combination of biophysical factors such as increased frequency of natural disasters, extreme weather changes, and oceanographic dynamics, all of which are beyond human control. Tropical coastal ecosystems are experiencing significant ecological stress as a direct consequence of atmospheric warming. The economic vulnerability of coastal communities is not only triggered by environmental aspects due to climate change, but is also caused by socio-economic factors, institutional access, fishing technology, and local social structures, which either strengthen or weaken the level of vulnerability. The environmental, social, and economic aspects of Tambakrejo fishing laborers' susceptibility might also be examined. The first objective is to explore the resources found in the waters of Tambakrejo; the second objective is to identify fishermen's perceptions of the factors that make them vulnerable; and the third objective is to identify the adaptive capacity of fishermen. The qualitative approach was conducted thru simple triangulation with the assistance of the ATLAS.ti software to address the fourth research objective, which is to analyze strategies that enable fishermen to improve their conditions from vulnerable to sustainable. This research uses primary and secondary data. The respondents in this study consisted of 30 fishermen selected using purposive sampling technique.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence the interest of the younger generation in working in the rice farming sector in Polokarto District, Sukoharjo Regency. The method used in this research is the binary logistic regression model, which is a logistic regression with two categories or binomial on its dependent variable. The data in this study were obtained from primary and secondary data. Secondary data were obtained from relevant agencies or government institutions, including data on the number of labor forces and rice farmers in 2022 in Polokarto District. Primary data were obtained directly from the labor force working in the rice agriculture sector in Polokarto District. Descriptive analysis through observation techniques, in-depth interviews (wawancara mendalam). The population in this study was conducted in the Polokarto District with specific criteria. And the sample consists of 100 rice farmers and non-farmers aged (15-39 years) with a distribution of 20 farmers from each of the five villages (Polokarto, Karangwuni, Wonorejo, Kenokorejo, Bakalan) in the Polokarto District. The results of this study indicate that the variables of Wages, Land Area, and Gender partially have a positive and significant effect on the interest of the younger generation to work in the agricultural sector. The number of dependents has a negative and significant effect, while education does not have an effect on the interest of the younger generation to work in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, tax sector state revenue, Human Development Index, and poverty on the corruption perception index during the reform era in Indonesia from 1999 to 2022. Corruption can reduce the productivity of public spending, distort resource allocation, and slow down economic growth. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis tools on time series data from Indonesia for the years 1999-2022, with the dependent variable being the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), which reflects public perception of the quality of corruption in the country. A higher CPI index value indicates a lower level of corruption. The independent variables in this study are economic growth, tax sector revenue, HDI, and poverty. The research results show that simultaneously, the independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable, while partially, the economic growth and HDI variables have a significantly positive effect on the CPI, whereas the tax sector revenue variable has a significantly negative effect. However, the poverty variable has no significant effect on the CPI. The goodness of fit test results indicate that 95% of the influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable can be explained by the model, while 5% is explained by variables outside the model.
