Abstract

Waste management in the big cities of Indonesia is still become a complicated problem. This article aims to analyze the influence of socio-economic factors which consist of GRDP per capita, population density, gender ratio, the proportion of population productive age and education on the efficiency of waste management service (WMS) in provincial capitals in Indonesia. The method used was Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). The resulted WMS efficiency from this study were 0.39. Based on that value, it means the efficiency of WMS are still low and the efficiency can be improved about 61%. It also can be concluded that all variables were significantly influenced the WMS efficiency, except gender ratio. Expected that the result of this study can be used by both central and local government to improve the WMS in Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Job opportunity is one of indicators to assess economic development. However, the recruitment of worker still not able overcomes unemployment. The development of small industries will help overcoming unemployment because small industries used technology of labor intensive. Tegal occupied the first job seeker in Central Java with job seeker at 14,22% of the total labor. The highest business unit of small industries in Tegal is salted fish industry. The research uses multiple linear regression (Ordinary Least Square) to analyze the effect of wages, productivity, and working capital for recruitment of worker on salted fish industry in Tegal. The results showed the influence wages to the recruitment of worker obtained      t value at -0,717< t table 1,671, it’s indicate that the wages have negative effect on recruitment of worker. The result significance test at 0,476 ˃ 0,05 (α = 5%), it’s shows  that wages have no significant effect on the recruitment of worker. The results showed the influence productivity to the recruitment of worker obtained t value at -8,148 > t table 1,671, it’s indicate that the productivity have negative effect on recruitment of worker. The result significance test at 0,000 < 0,05 (α = 5%), it’s shows  that productivity have significant effect on the recruitment of worker. The results showed the influence working capital to the recruitment of worker obtained t value at 13,698 > t table 1,671, it’s indicate that the working capital have positive effect on recruitment of worker. The result significance test at 0,000 < 0,05 (α = 5%), it’s shows  that working capital have significant effect on the recruitment of worker. The simultaneous test result showed that F value 128,454 > F table 2,76 with significance at 0,000 < 0,05 (α = 5%), it’s mean that wages, productivity, and working capital have simultaneously significant effect on the recruitment of worker.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the variables influencing Indonesia's electrical energy consumption from 2017 to 2023. Utilising secondary data from Central Bureau of Statistics of Indonesia and State Electricity Company (PLN) for the years 2017– 2023, quantitative research using a regression analysis approach is the study methodology employed. The population, income per capita, information technology development index, and human development index are the independent variables in this study. The population, human development index, and per capita income all had a significant impact on the amount of electrical energy used, according to the findings. In the meanwhile, there is a slight but negative impact from the information technology development index. Together, the independent factors can account for 88.6% of the fluctuation in Indonesia's electrical energy usage. According to the study's findings, increasing electrical energy.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service aims to provide training for students and lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, specific training on using the Frontier 4.1c software. The software is used to analyze problems related to efficiency measurement using a stochastic approach, commonly referred to as SFA (Stochastic Frontier Analysis). The training is conducted online. The participants are equipped with knowledge of production theory, basic SFA theory, inputting data and the running of the data, as well as result interpretation. The method used in this community service is EAR (Educational Action Research) to address the issue of participants' lack of understanding of SFA. This training benefits participants, most of whom are students, by providing them with proficiency in using software for efficiency measurement using the stochastic (SFA) approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service project is to train kindergarten teachers who belong to the Abimanyu and Banowati groups in waste sorting. The Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach is used to carry out community service. Using this approach, kindergarten teachers and researchers work together to teach kids how to sort waste. Since waste sorting is a novel approach to waste management, it needs to be promoted and established in society, particularly among students. Most of the kindergarten teachers who took part in the program had never instructed their kids in waste sorting. Teachers of kindergarten received instruction on how to segregate waste in bins with red, yellow, and green lids. Kindergarten teachers can more easily teach sorting bins with colored lids to their kids. By imparting good values linked to teaching discipline, upholding cleanliness, and recognizing the health of their pupils, waste sorting training helps kindergarten teachers understand the significance of waste sorting.

Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of economic and technological factors on the performance of the transportation sector in Indonesia using a panel data approach across 34 provinces during the period 2020–2024. The independent variables include the inflation rate, realization of transportation investment, and the regional digitalization index (EVDCI), while the dependent variable is the growth rate of the transportation sector. The estimation method uses panel data with a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The estimation results show that inflation and the realization of transportation investment have a positive and significant impact on the performance of the transportation sector, indicating that in the context of post-pandemic economic recovery, the increase in economic activity reflected by inflation and the realization of transportation investment also drives the demand for transportation services, while digitalization does not show a significant impact. These findings critique the short-term effectiveness of the digitalization program, which has not yet been fully functionally integrated into the national transportation system. This research emphasizes the importance of more targeted and region-based policy planning in strengthening the synergy between macroeconomic policies and the digital transformation of the transportation sector.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of minimum wage determination (UMK) in South Sumatra from 2020 to 2024, emphasizing the role of economic and social indicators. Utilizing panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), the study investigates the influence of open unemployment rate, Human Development Index (HDI), labor force participation rate, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and poverty rate on the determination of district/city minimum wages. The findings reveal that HDI has a positive and significant effect on UMK, indicating that improved human development supports higher wage standards. Conversely, the open unemployment rate and poverty rate negatively and significantly affect UMK, suggesting that socioeconomic vulnerabilities limit local governments' capacity to increase wages. Meanwhile, labor force participation and GRDP are not statistically significant. These results underscore the complexity of wage policy formulation, which must balance worker welfare and economic resilience at the regional level. The study offers relevant policy implications for equitable wage setting through human capital development and poverty reduction strategies.
