Abstract

The growth of Nyatoh (Palaquim sp) seedlings is very slow so they need to be given treatment to speed up their growth in the field. Nyatoh (Palaquim sp) seeds are endemic to South Sulawesi and make good quality wood for house building materials. This research aims to determine and analyze the interaction of giving compost fertilizer on the growth of Nyatoh (Palaquium sp) seedlings in the nursery, as well as knowing and analyzing the appropriate dosage according to the growth needs of Nyatoh (Palaquium spp) seedlings in the nursery. The research method used was an experimental method with 3 repetitions. Nyatoh seeds which are available in the form of polybags are approximately 2 months old in the nursery, then seeds with a uniform height of around 15 cm are selected for a total of 90 seedlings. Next, compost fertilizer is prepared from fermented cow dung, then weighed at a dose of 30 gr/seed coded (P1), 40 gr/seed (P2), and 50 gr/seed (P3). Initial growth measurements (first week) were carried out when the seeds were mixed with compost for each Nyatoh seedling. Then the next measurement was carried out in the 4th week (final measurement) on 90 Nyatoh seedlings in the nursery. The results of the research showed that the interaction of giving compost fertilizer to Nyatoh seedlings had a very significant effect on the increase in height and number of leaves of Nyatoh seedlings in the nursery, with a calculated F value of 14,955 > F table value of 4,459 and F calculated 12,043 > 4,459. The treatment of providing compost fertilizer at a dose of 40 gr/seed (P2) had a very significant effect on the increase in height and increase in the number of leaves of Nyatoh seedlings in the nursery.

Abstract

Feline arterial thromboembolism (FATE) is a life-threatening condition characterized by partial or complete arterial obstruction due to thrombus formation, most commonly secondary to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The resulting ischemia causes severe pain, which is often overlooked in clinical practice. The Feline Grimace Scale (FGS) provides a rapid and objective tool for pain assessment in cats. This report describes an adult female cat presenting with left hindlimb paresis, cyanosis, and femoral pulse deficit, with an initial FGS score of 6/10. Blood chemistry showed elevated creatine kinase (CK) levels, and echocardiography confirmed reduced femoral arterial flow and myocardial hypertrophy, consistent with HCM. A multimodal management approach was applied, including gabapentin, tramadol, clopidogrel, furosemide, and heparin therapy. Despite treatment, the affected limb developed gangrene, necessitating amputation. Preoperative analgesia consisted of pethidine, ketamine, and xylazine, followed by regional lidocaine nerve blocks and postoperative fentanyl continuous rate infusion. The surgical site healed completely within 21 days, and over a four-month follow-up period, the FGS score improved from 9 to 0, indicating complete pain resolution.

Abstract

Low consumption of vegetables and fruit is ranked 10th as a risk factor for death in the world. Around 2.7 million people in the world die every year, the low consumption of vegetables and fruit is related to factors such as knowledge of the availability of vegetables and fruit and support from the Women's Farming Group (KWT). To determine the relationship between knowledge, availability and support from friends in the Women's Farmers Group (KWT) in the work area of ??the South Hulu Sungai Regency Food Security Service. This study used a cross sectional design. The research subjects consisted of 72 people from the Women's Farmers Group (KWT) in the work area of ??the Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency Food Security Service. Data analysis chi square test and multiple logistic regression test. The results of analysis using chi square show the p value of the variables knowledge (p= 0.000), availability (p= 0.001), and friend support (p= 0.008). The results of analysis using multiple logistic regression show the p and Exp B values ??of the knowledge variable (p= 0.011, Exp B= 1.572), the availability variable (p=0.014, Exp B= 1.451), and the friend support variable (p=0.037, Exp B= 1,243). There is a significant relationship between knowledge, availability and support from friends in the Women's Farmers Group (KWT) in the work area of ??the Hulu Sungai Selatan District Food Security Service. The most dominant variable is knowledge.
