Abstract

Skipjack tuna is a fish that has very high economic value and skipjack tuna catch is export scale which is exported to various countries, such as Japan, Thailand, and England. Skipjack tuna is the main community catch around Aceh and Sumatra's western waters, so people depend on Skipjack tuna catch in large quantities. Sea Surface Temperature (SST), as measured by satellites, is the condition of the sea surface layer because infrared radiation is absorbed and reflected by surface water molecules. The thickness of the water surface whose temperature is measured depends on the wavelength of the radiation. For wavelengths between 3-14 μm, the thickness is less than 0,1 mm, because what is measured is the water surface temperature, its use in oceanography depends on the ability to interpret it, namely to determine the temperature in the surface layer up to several meters down, which according to experts call Sea Surface Temperature (SST). The reason for the high correlation between SST and skipjack tuna number caught in the west-east season is thought to be because the skipjack tuna distribution in the water area is not only influenced by one particular oceanographic factor. The low correlation between SST and skipjack tuna number caught in the second transition season is thought to be due to the optimum temperature in that season for skipjack tuna body, where the results from satellite imagery of the first transition season have SPL of 28,3-29,4 ºC. The highest catch of skipjack tuna occurred in December 2023 with a total of 2.023.543 kg, and the lowest was in June 2023 with a value of 12,678 kg. In the linear regression analysis, the relationship between SST and skipjack tuna catches in transition season II received a significance (F) value of 0,05, where sea surface temperature affected skipjack tuna catches.

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos is a group of organisms that live in or on the surface of the bottom sediment of waters and have a length of more than 1mm. One of the habitats of macrozoobenthos is the freshwater ecosystem in the Bah Biak River, Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province. It is known that macrozoobenthos can provide food availability for other organisms and as an indication of the suitability of the potential quality of waters, especially pollution indicators and play an important role in the decomposition process of organic matter in sediments in freshwater ecosystems so that the macrozoobenthos community can be used as an indicator of the balance of aquatic ecosystems. This study aims to; To identify the diversity, uniformity and dominance of Macrozoobenthos in the Bah Biak River area, Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province. This study used a combination of two transect methods, namely line transects and quadrat transects. Determination of the research location using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed that there were 4 species of Macrozoobenthos consisting of 2 classes with a total of 95 individuals. The diversity of Macrozoobenthos in the Bah Biak River, Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province is classified as moderate with a diversity index of H’ = 1.27 – 1.35, the evenness index is classified as stable ranging from 0.92 – 0.97 and the dominance index is classified as high.

Abstract

Ilmu Pengetahuan masyarakat akan kendala–kendala mesin mengalami lose compression yang menyebabkan matinya kerja mesin sehingga para nakhoda kapal akan kesulitan untuk perpindah posisi maupun jika ingin mendarat. Untuk itu, pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk membantu para nakhoda / nelayan dalam mengetahui gejala maupun gangguan yang dialami oleh mesin yang mereka gunakan pada kapal dengan cara merawat sekaligus maintenance yang akan dilakukan ketika mendapati permasalahan. Masyarakat Nagori Sibaganding melakukan kegiatan ekonomi dalam bidang penangkapan ikan dan juga kapal pariwisata yang berada di Sumatera Utara. Dari hasil pengamatan di lapangan dan wawancara langsung kepada Ketua Paguyuban Nelayan setempat, terdapat tiga aspek yang menjadi fokus pada program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu permasalahan yang terjadi pada mesin, penanganan yang akan dilakukan, dan kondisi perawatan mesin. Dengan adanya penyuluhan yang dilakukan diharapkan para nelayan mampu memahami dan merawat kondisi mesin kapal mereka guna meminimalisir adanya kendala saat berada di danau, serta dapat meningkatkan hasil untuk memenuhi permintaan konsumen

Abstract

The earth's surface naturally not only holds water but water flows from upstream to downstream. Water quality is always influenced by the activities of living things. Water needs not only depend on quantity, but also on its quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of water in the Panomburan spring and to conduct counseling/socialization through KPPM in Salbe village. Determination of water quality using 2 parameters, namely Physics and Chemistry. The physical parameters measured are temperature. The chemical parameters measured are pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) or Dissolved Oxygen. The method used in this activity is the observation method and counseling/socialization. The results of these parameters will be presented to the community in order to provide understanding for residents regarding water quality in the Panomburan spring. The results of the study that have been conducted in the Panomburan spring for the average value at all stations pH 6.915, DO 6.925, Temperature 20.375⁰C. it can be concluded that the Panomburan spring is classified as standard for the community. parameters that meet the quality standard requirements according to PP RI No. 22 of 2021, namely, Temperature, pH and DO. Abstract

Umbul Simarumbalang is one of the water sources that is a mainstay for the residents of Salbe Village. However, despite its great potential, the community's understanding regarding water quality and how to maintain its cleanliness is still limited. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and awareness of the people of Salbe Village regarding the importance of maintaining the water quality of Umbul Simarumbalang through educational and integrative outreach/socialization activities. The results obtained for three parameters were an average pH of 7.55, for DO with an average value of 9.9, and for an average temperature of 24.6°C. From the results of water quality measurements in Umbul Simarumbalang, it can be concluded that the quality of the water in Umbul Simarumbalang is very good if consumed directly when the weather is not rainy or has not just rained.
