Abstract

The socialization regarding the flight training area of the flight cadets at the Indonesian Aviation Polytechnic Curug the community is a crucial effort to enhance the awareness and knowledge of the local residents. Through this socialization, it is expected that the community can comprehend the procedures for providing first aid in emergency situations and identify the restricted areas that are essential for aviation safety. Following the successful conduct of the socialization activities within the Indonesian Aviation Polytechnic Curug, participants are anticipated to acquire proficiency in first aid techniques and understand the legal implications that apply in the event of violations within the training area, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 1 of 2009 concerning aviation. The socialization also involves officials and staff from the transportation department, held at the office of the Transportation Agency of Tangerang Regency. This activity encompasses presentation sessions and interactive discussions. The entire process proceeds smoothly, with materials presented by the speakers followed by active discussions among the participants

Abstract

In recent years, drone technology has shown its role as a cutting-edge technology in aviation. Originally classified as a hobby, drones are now developing into an alternative solution for air transport. Activities to introduce drone technology to the public need to be carried out so that people can keep up with the development of aviation information and technology. Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug as the oldest aviation education institution in Indonesia introduced drone technology for photography to the younger generation as a concrete form of community service. This activity took place at the State Vocational High School 12 Tangerang Regency on 27 October 2023 and was attended by students from the Construction and Design Technology class. The class was chosen because of its relevance to the function of drones for photography. The introduction was carried out by explaining information about the types of drones, regulations and permits to operate drones starting from drone licences, drone pilot personnel licences, and permit procedures to the competent authorities.

Abstract

Safety during flight training is a fundamental aspect of aviation. Various factors can affect the level of safety, including the pilot's physical condition, weather factors and the fitness of the training aircraft. This article aims to evaluate the impact of these three factors on safety during flight training. The method used in this article is qualitative and library research. The results show that physical fatigue has a significant influence on the pilot's level of alertness and response when flying the aircraft. In addition, weather factors such as low visibility and turbulence also increase the risk of accidents and errors in maneuvers. The technical feasibility of the training aircraft, including regular maintenance and engine condition, also plays an important role in preventing potentially hazardous system failures. Overall, safety in flight training is greatly influenced by the physical readiness of the pilot, the conditions of the flight environment, and the technical aspects of the training aircraft. Therefore, physical fatigue management, weather monitoring and optimal aircraft maintenance should be prioritized in aviation.

Abstract

Safety is at utmost priority in aviation industry. The International Civil Aviation Organization even established a dedicated part of its regulation, The Annexes, to ensure and promote aviation safety. The state of establishing, assessing risk, assuring, and promoting safety is a holistic system stated as Safety Management System. This system ensures that risks and hazard are mitigated and reduced to an acceptable level. There are many procedures and checklists available to ensure flight safety, one of them is by assuring the conduct of safety procedure is based on its establishment standard or even revised and updated to follow the recent development in the operation of the industry. This research is qualitative-research using the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment method. The output of this research will be a mitigation recommendation that corresponds with the result of hazard identification and assessment of the researched phenomenon so that the same incident would not happen again in the future. This research is conducted in the oldest aviation campus in Indonesia, Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug. The final result is that the operation of flight training still tends to have either hazard or risk. This research aims to encourage and promote mitigation act to reduce and prevent the aftereffect of the risk assessed.

Abstract

Keselamatan adalah masalah mendasar dan prioritas dalam sebuah operasi penerbangan. Keselamatan atau safety adalah nilai inti dari semua operasi penerbangan. Namun, di saat yang sama, safety merupakan kontributor biaya bagi operator penerbangan. Walaupun demikian, keselamatan merupakan aspek penting dan harus dipromosikan dengan cara apapun dalam operasi penerbangan. Hal ini dapat diwujudkan dengan menetapkan prosedur dan melaksanakan operasi dengan checklist dan prosedur operasi standar. Ada banyak prosedur dan checklist yang harus dilakukan. Salah satu dari sekian banyak prosedur tersebut adalah pre-flight inspection. Penting untuk menilai risiko keselamatan dari kesalahan implementasi langkah checklist untuk mencegah efek lebih lanjut. Salah satu langkah dalam melakukan pre-flight inspection yang benar adalah dengan memastikan penutup pitot terlepas dari tabung pitot di pesawat. Penutup pitot memiliki pita merah yang berfungsi sebagai penanda penutup pitot. Sayangnya, pada penelitian ini ditemukan banyak pitot cover yang tidak memiliki pita merah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis risiko yang muncul sebagai dampak dari tidak adanya pita merah pada operasional pelatihan penerbangan di Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment method. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai safety recommendation dari perspektif akademis bagi operator sekolah penerbangan agar tingkat risiko yang sama dapat dimitigasi dengan lebih baik.
