Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia treatment if not treated immediately will cause seizures and even cause death. Rational treatment can be seen from the (outcome) therapy and costs. Pharmacoeconomic analysis can be used to see which drug is most effective in terms of therapeutic outcomes and the costs incurred to obtain that therapy. Objective: This study aims to analyze the cost-effective antihypertensive monotherapy in preeclampsia patients. Methods: The research was conducted at the Sleman Regional Hospital on inpatient preeclampsia patients for the 2021-2022 period. Retrospective data collection in the form of medical record data and financial administration. The effectiveness of therapy is calculated based on blood pressure and length of stay with ICER (Incremental Cost-Effectiveness Ratio) calculations. Results: The description of the characteristics of preeclampsia patients at Sleman Regional Hospital is dominated by those aged 20-35 years, 23 patients (51%), without comorbidities, 39 patients (87%). The most widely used antihypertensive monotherapy was Nifedipine in 33 patients (73%). The cost effective monotherapy is Nifedipine, with an ICER value of Rp. 3,258 based on blood pressure and an ICER of -Rp. 6,041 based on LOSConclusion: Monotherapy that cost effective for hospitalized preeclampsia patients at Sleman Regional Hospital is Nifedipine.

Abstract

Background: Optimal breast milk production is crucial for a baby's health. Common problems include low milk supply, blocked milk ducts, and anatomical breast issues. These factors include poor breastfeeding technique, stress and fatigue, poor nutrition, and delayed milk production. Objective: To determine the effect of giving green bean juice and oxytocin massage on breast milk production. Methods: The study employed a pretest-posttest design with a control group, divided into two groups: one receiving green bean juice and the other receiving oxytocin massage. Results: The statistical test T-test sig value 0.512 (>0.05), there is no significant difference between giving green bean juice and oxytocin massage on breast milk production. The green bean juice group has a value (3273) higher than the oxytocin massage group (3180), although there is no significant difference, but the giving of green bean juice has a slightly greater effect on breast milk production. Conclusion: Giving green bean juice has a slightly greater effect on breast milk production than giving oxytocin massage. Giving green bean juice and oxytocin massage to postpartum mothers simultaneously increased breast milk production

Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an increasingly prevalent condition globally and is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Hypertension frequently occurs during the development of kidney disease and is a leading cause of its progression. CKD patients with complications and comorbidities often require combination therapy. However, some drug combinations can cause adverse drug reactions and reduce the efficacy of therapy. One such reaction is failing to achieve the blood pressure target; Method: This research is a non-experimental, analytical study with retrospective sampling. The sample for this study consisted of 71 patients. Potential drug interactions were analyzed using the drug interaction checker application on drug.com. Univariate analysis was performed to describe patient characteristics, and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square statistical test was performed to examine the relationship between the potential interactions of antihypertensive drugs and blood pressure targets; Results: The correlation analysis test results showed no relationship between the potential interaction of antihypertensive drugs and the target blood pressure of CKD patients (p-value = 0.607); Conclusion: There is potential for antihypertensive drug interactions in CKD patients, but they do not statistically affect blood pressure targets.
