Abstract

The amount of text-based data generated today is increasing drastically, especially with the development of digital technology and the internet. With the rapid growth of data, one of the main challenges faced is how to store and search large amounts of text-based data efficiently. This study analyzes the effect of using Full-text index in MySQL on the performance of text-based data searches, especially on large datasets. The study was conducted using a marketplace product dataset containing 2.3 million data. Testing includes searching using one, two, and three-word keywords in tables with and without full-text index. The test results show that tables with full-text index have faster search times than tables without Full-text index. Statistical analysis using the t-test produces a p value <0.05, indicating a significant effect of using Full-text index on data search efficiency. These findings confirm that full-text index is an effective solution to improve the performance of large-scale text data searches.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the need for an efficient and structured library management system at MI Hidayatul Ulum. Previously, book recording, borrowing, and reporting were done manually, creating administrative challenges and limiting access to information for students and teachers. To address these challenges, the community service team implemented a web-based library information system designed to simplify collection management, facilitate book searches, and expedite the borrowing and return process. The implementation method included partner needs analysis, system design and installation, training for staff and teachers, and evaluation of implementation results. The system was designed to be accessible through the school's local network with a simple and user-friendly interface. Training was provided to ensure the school was able to utilize and manage the system independently. The results showed that the implementation of this information system improved library management efficiency and expanded user access to information. Teachers could more easily monitor book collections, while students found it easier to search for and borrow books. Furthermore, the system accelerated administrative processes and reduced the risk of recording errors. Another positive impact was the growth of a technology-based literacy culture within the madrasah. With the availability of faster book search and borrowing services, students' interest in reading increased. A participatory approach involving schools from the planning stage through evaluation ensures that the resulting solutions meet needs and can be implemented sustainably. This community service activity is expected to serve as a model for implementing simple technology that has a real impact on improving the quality of basic education services.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis data historis penerimaan mahasiswa baru sebagai dasar dalam merumuskan strategi pemasaran di Institut Teknologi Mojosari (ITM) Nganjuk. Persaingan ketat antar perguruan tinggi swasta di Indonesia menuntut adanya pendekatan pemasaran yang lebih inovatif, adaptif, dan berbasis data. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan memanfaatkan data sekunder penerimaan mahasiswa baru selama tiga tahun akademik, yaitu 2023/2024, 2024/2025, dan 2025/2026. Variabel yang diteliti terdiri dari, aspek demografis, akademis, program studi, sumber informasi, serta faktor finansial calon mahasiswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tren pendaftar mengalami fluktuasi dengan dominasi asal sekolah swasta, khususnya SMK, serta wilayah lokal Kabupaten Nganjuk. Program studi yang diminati juga mengalami perubahan signifikan dari tahun ke tahun, sementara jalur pendaftaran melalui KIP Kuliah masih mendominasi. Dari sisi sumber informasi, peran teman, alumni, dan media sosial menjadi akses utama dalam memengaruhi keputusan calon mahasiswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa strategi pemasaran perguruan tinggi perlu mengoptimalkan akses digital, memperkuat kolaborasi dengan sekolah asal dan jaringan alumni, serta menyesuaikan program studi dengan kebutuhan pasar. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan data historis penerimaan mahasiswa baru mampu memberikan landasan empiris yang kuat bagi pengembangan strategi pemasaran yang efektif, efisien, dan berkelanjutan di era persaingan pendidikan tinggi yang semakin kompetitif.
