Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable disease that is one of the chronic diseases caused by insufficient insulin production by the pancreas that cannot be used effectively by the body. According to WHO 2020, there are 422 million people with Diabetes Mellitus in the world, while the prevalence in Indonesia reaches 10.6% of the total population of 179.2 million. East Kalimantan Province has a prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus of 2.26% and Samarinda city has a prevalence of 3.04%. Objective: This study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with dietary compliance of Type II Diabetes Mellitus in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda. Methods: This study used quantitative research with an analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda as many as 35 respondents. The sample used is from the calculation of the Total Sampling technique, which is 35 respondents. Data analysis used in the variables of knowledge, attitude and compliance is the Gamma test. Results: The results of the Gamma test show that there is a relationship between knowledge and Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance with a p-value = 0.003 (<0.005) which means there is a significant relationship. While the results of the relationship between attitude and Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance get a p-value = 0.010 (<0.005) which means there is a significant relationship between attitude and Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and attitude with dietary compliance of Type II Diabetes Mellitus in RT 02 Kampung Tenun Samarinda. Suggestion: It is hoped to increase knowledge and attitudes about Type II Diabetes Mellitus diet compliance by adjusting eating patterns to manage blood sugar levels in the body and prevent complications from Type II Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract

Introduction: Anemia is a medical condition in which the levels of hemoglobin or red blood cells are below normal. In 2019, WHO reported that the prevalence of anemia in women of childbearing age (15-49 years) reached 29.9% globally. According to the World Health Organization in 2020 globally, anemia affects 1.62 billion people, which is equivalent to 24.8% of the population. Iron nutritional anemia can cause a decrease in physical ability, work productivity and thinking ability. Apart from that, nutritional anemia can also cause a decrease in antibodies, making it easier to get sick due to infection. Objective: To determine the effect of counseling about anemia through flipcharts on the knowledge and attitudes of young women at MTs DDI Karya Baru Loa Janan Method: This research is a quantitative research using the Pre Experiment method, research design using a One Group pretest and posttest design, with a sample size of 56 young women at MTs DDI Karya Baru Loa Janan. Sampling used total sampling. Results: The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that 40 people (71.4%) identified the knowledge of young women who were in the good category because before intervention was given, they were in the poor category. Then after being given the intervention, respondents' knowledge increased by 52 people (92.9%). This proves that knowledge after being given the intervention increased, namely before the pretest by (7.1%) and after being given the posttest intervention by (92.9%). The results of identifying attitudes before being given the intervention were in the negative category as many as 41 people (73.2%). Then after being given the intervention, respondents' attitudes increased by 50 people (89.3%). This proves that the attitude after being given the intervention increased, namely before the pretest it was (8.9%) and after being given the posttest intervention it was (89.3%). Conclusion: There is an influence of counseling about anemia through flipcharts on the knowledge and attitudes of teenage girls at MTs DDI Karya Baru Loa Janan.

Abstract

Introduction: Diarrhea is a disease caused by not consuming healthy snacks so that various diseases start to appear, for example stomach ache, toothache, and the worst thing is diarrhea. Objective: To determine the influence of health education using card game media on knowledge and attitudes regarding the consumption of healthy snacks at SDN 0005 Samarinda Seberang. Method: This research is a quantitative research using the Pre Experiment method, research design using a One Group Pre test and Post test design, with a sample size of 64 students at SDN 005 Samarinda Seberang. Sampling used simple random sampling. Results: Data analysis through statistical tests followed by the Wilcoxon test. The results of data analysis for the Experimental group given the card game media intervention had a significant effect on knowledge P = 0.000 (p<0.05) and attitude P = 0.000 (p,0.05). Card game media has an influence on increasing students' knowledge and attitudes about consuming healthy snacks at SDN 005 Samarinda Seberang. Conclusion: This research can be used as an alternative choice of health education media in conveying information about consuming healthy snacks and can be used as a literature source in developing further research.
