Abstract

Indonesia's sports achievements seem to experience inconsistent fluctuations. Therefore, various aspects related to the development of high-performance sports need to be considered. Currently, there are risks that can increase the possibility of body image problems in athletes, one of which is social pressure from coaches. Athletes who cannot maintain good body composition can become overweight to obesity. Athletes and coaches must have nutritional knowledge, especially regarding food management during training periods, competition periods, and recovery periods. The sample in this study was 64 handball athletes in Palembang City who were taken using the total sampling technique. The data analysis technique used the Chi-square test. The results of this study showed that most of the Palembang handball athletes in this study had a positive body image, muscle mass was in the high category, fat levels were in the normal category, and knowledge was in the sufficient category. The results of this study indicate that body image does not affect the performance of handball athletes in Palembang City (p = 0.917), knowledge does not affect the performance of handball athletes in Palembang City (p = 0.132), fat levels do not affect the performance of handball athletes in Palembang City (0.446), and muscle mass does not affect the performance of handball athletes in Palembang City (p = 0.286). The researcher recommends that coaches improve athlete performance by increasing the frequency of training and for further research to conduct further research by changing or adding variables and increasing the number of samples.

Abstract

Nowadays, brands from various industrial sectors have started to release new product line or branding strategy that focuses on preserving nature, one of the examples being green personal body care. The vague and excessive claims made by the brands evoked negative sentiment called perceived greenwashing as the consumers have a negative perception that the brand was deceiving them. This phenomenon is called greenwashing. The research aimed to understand the relationship between perceived greenwashing among Indonesian consumers with its consequences, such as word of mouth, green personal body care, attitude, and repurchase intention. A survey was conducted among Indonesian green personal body care consumers, receiving 108 valid responses in total. The data was later analyzed using descriptive analysis and PLS-SEM. The findings suggested a negative relationship between perceived greenwashing with word of mouth and green brand image. The two constructs were also the predictor of attitude toward green personal body care products. Attitude is the predictor of repurchase intention. The green brand image was also found to mediate the relationship between perceived greenwashing and attitude, also perceived greenwashing and repurchase intention. Keywords: green personal body care, perceived greenwashing, word of mouth, green brand image, repurchase intention

Abstract

Laboratory air quality is an important factor affecting the health of laboratory users. The Chemistry Department of FMIPA UNSRI consist of biochemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry laboratories. This study aimed to evaluate the potential hazards caused by exposure to carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) among the laboratory users in the Chemistry Study Program at FMIPA UNSRI. This study was an observational study using the Environmental Health Risk Analysis (EHRA) method. Measurements were taken before and after the practicum. The study was conducted in 5 laboratories within the Chemistry Study Program at FMIPA UNSRI. The concentrations of CO and CO2 showed that the conditions after the practicum were higher than before the practicum, CO reached 2.07 ppm and CO2 reached 631.69 ppm with the risk quotient (RQ) for both CO and CO2 both showing RQ > 1. Based on the EHRA calculation, it shows that the accumulation of CO and CO2 gases after the practicum suggest that continuous exposure for 8 hours per day over 5 consecutive days may have adverse health effects on laboratory users, including lecturers, students and analysts at FMIPA environment. Therefore, it is recommended to implement risk management, monitoring and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) whenever entering the laboratory. Abstract

Background: Indonesia's sports achievements are still less impressive at the national, regional, and international levels. Sports performance in Indonesia is hindered and tends to decline, especially in events like the SEA Games, Asian Games, and the Olympics. Objective: To determine the impact of nutrition education through the media of nurticards and vidbooks regarding macro and micro nutrients, as well as fluids, on handball athletes in Palembang City. Methods: The research design is a quasi-experimental design with a sample size of 55 handball athletes in Palembang City, using total sampling as the sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the completion of informed consent forms and questionnaires, as well as secondary data obtained from the sports branch authorities. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon statistical test on the variables of knowledge and attitude. To identify differences in the average scores of knowledge and attitude between the two groups, the Mann-Whitney test was used. Results: The average knowledge and attitudes related to macro and micro nutrients and fluids among handball athletes in Palembang City improved before and after the education. In the knowledge variable, the intervention group had an average score of 10.04, while the control group scored 8.78. In the attitude variable, the intervention group had an average score of 44.25, whereas the control group scored 41.25. There was a significant impact of nutrition education through nurticards and vidbooks on the macro and micro nutrients and fluids knowledge among handball athletes in Palembang City (p < 0.05).Conclusion: There is an impact of nutrition education through nutricards and vidbooks on the knowledge and attitudes of handball athletes in Palembang City regarding macro and micro nutrients and fluids.
