Abstract

Abstract Chemistry considered as diffiuclt subject because studies abstract things. Atomic structure is one of chemistry fundamental topic which is abstract. Most of students have misconception about this topic. Misconceptions held by student will caused students to have difficulty in learning other chemical materials such as chemical bond that require a atomic structure as a basic. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of chemistry teachers in MGMP South Jakarta 2 in developing three-tier diagnostic test insturments to detect misconceptions. The methods used are presentations, group discussions, and three-tier misconception identification practice. The results show that the teacher are enthusiastic in participating to join this community service activity and have a high motivation to develop diagnostic test instrument on other chemical materials. This activity is expected to help the teachers in diagnosing student learning difficulties, so the teachers can choose more veried learning strategies to implement in learning activities then students’ understanding of chemical materials can be improved. Keywords: community service, diagnostic test instrument, three-tier, atomic structure, MGMP Jakarta 2 Abstrak Kimia identik dengan mata pelajaran yang sulit karena mempelajari hal yang abstrak. Struktur atom merupakan salah satu materi dasar yang bersifat abstrak. Siswa seringkali mengalami miskonsepsi pada materi ini. Miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa pada materi struktur atom akan menyebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam mempelajari materi kimia lainnya seperti ikatan kimia yang membutuhkan pemahaman dasar struktur atom. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru kimia di lingkungan MGMP Jakarta Selatan 2 dalam mengembangkan instrumen tes diagnostik three-tier untuk mendeteksi miskonsepsi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini meliputi presentasi materi, diskusi kelompok, serta praktik identifikasi soal miskonsepsi three-tier. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa para guru antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan dan memiliki semangat yang tinggi untuk mengembangkan instrument test diagnostik pada materi kimia lainnya. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat membantu para guru dalam mendiagnosis kesulitan belajar siswa, sehingga guru dapat memilih strategi pembelajaran yang lebih tepat untuk diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kimia dapat ditingkatkan. Abstract

Perkembangan kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) membuka peluang besar bagi inovasi pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) berbasis Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Secara umum, guru masih menghadapi tantangan dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi ini ke dalam praktik pembelajaran, khususnya bagi mereka yang bertugas di wilayah yang relatif jauh dari perkotaan meskipun fasilitas pendidikan sudah tersedia. Keterbatasan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam kerangka Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) menjadi salah satu faktor utama yang menghambat pemanfaatan AI dalam pembelajaran. Untuk menjawab kebutuhan tersebut, program pelatihan ini dirancang guna memperkuat TPACK guru dalam menerapkan AI-integrated STEM-PBL, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sekaligus mendukung pencapaian SDG 4 (Kualitas Pendidikan). Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui workshop interaktif dan kegiatan praktik langsung (hands-on activities), dan pendampingan dengan melibatkan mahasiswa sebagai mitra kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan seluruh peserta merasa pelatihan ini membantu mereka dalam memahami penerapan TPACK dan STEM-PBL, sementara 80% peserta menilai Abstract The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has opened significant opportunities for innovation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education through Problem-Based Learning (PBL). In general, teachers continue to face challenges in integrating this technology into classroom practice, particularly those working in regions located farther from urban centers, even though educational facilities have begun to improve. Limited understanding and skills within the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework remain key factors hindering the effective use of AI in teaching and learning. To address these needs, a training program was designed to strengthen teachers’ TPACK in implementing AI-integrated STEM-PBL, thereby enhancing teaching quality and supporting Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). The program consisted of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and mentoring, with the involvement of university students to foster collaboration between higher education institutions and schools. Questionnaire results indicated that all participants found the training useful in helping them to understand the application of TPACK and STEM-PBL, while 80% reported improvement in their TPACK skills and increased their confidence in using AI for their job as a teacher. These findings demonstrate the importance of systematic training in equipping teachers with AI-integrated STEM-PBL competencies and advancing technology-driven educational transformation in secondary schools.
