Abstract

The notion of secularism is a challenging problem to avoid nowadays with civilization dominated by the west. The secular ideology that distances science from political life with religious matters is already rife, so it takes a leader who can uphold the teachings of Allah and His Apostle to avoid secular dangers. Ahmad Ibn Al-Halim Bin Abd As-Salam Ibn Abdullah Ibn Taimiyah is a very influential Muslim scientist science world concerned with politics, which is supported by his politically nuanced works, presenting several opinions regarding outstanding leadership in building good governance and Islam. The main problem of this paper's target is to avoid the dangers of secularism in the politics of the Islamic world; an ideal leader is the main object. This paper uses a literature study method (Library research), making Ibn Taimiyah the primary reference. From several research results conducted by the author, it can be seen that the dangers of worldly secularization and separating political affairs from religion can be avoided by having a leader who has an Islamic character and upholds the teachings of Allah SWT. Leaders who are obedient in their position and position (Quwwah) and are trustworthy are the solution to the dangers of secularization in the world of Islamic politics. Paham sekularisme merupakan sebuah problem yang tidak mudah untuk di hindari pada masa sekarang dengan peradaban yang didomonasi oleh barat. Paham secular yang menjauhkan ilmu pengetahuan hingga kehidupan politik sosial dengan urusan agama sudah marak terjadi, sehingga dibutuhkan seorang pemimpin yang mampu menjunjung tunggi ajaran Allah dan Rasulnya untuk menghindari bahaya secular di tengah umat beragama. Ahmad Ibn Al-Halim Bin Abd As-Salam Ibn Abdullah Ibn Taimiyah merupakan seorang ilmuan muslim yang sangat berpengaruh dalam dunia ilmu pengetahuan yang menaruh konsen dalam bidang politik yang didukung dengan karya-karyanya yang bernuansa politik, memaparkan beberapa pendapat mengenai kepemimpinan yang ideal dalam membangun pemerintahan yang baik dan islami. Problem utama yang menjadi sasaran tulisan ini adalah menghindari bahaya sekularisme dalam politik dunia Islam dan seoraang pemimpin ideal menjadi objek utamanya. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka (Library research) yang menjadika pemikiran Ibnu Taimiyah sebagai rujukan Primer. Dari beberapa hasil riset yang dilakukan penulis dilihat bahwa bahaya sekularisasi yang duniawi dan memisakan urusan politik dengan agama, dapat dihindari dengan adanya pemimpin yang memiliki karakter islami dan menjunjung tinggi ajaran Allah SWT. Dari hasil riset yang dilakukan penulis terlihat bahwa Ibn Taimiyah bahwa Pemimpin yang yang taat berpendirian dan berkedudukan (Quwwah), amanah, adil dan berilmu menjadi solusi dari bahaya sekularissasi dunia politik Islam.

Abstract

Western epistemology encounters significant challenges due to its secular and materialistic orientation, which restricts the sources of knowledge to sensory perception and empirical experimentation. This study analyzes Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari’s concept of ma‘rifah as an epistemological alternative to these dilemmas. Adopting a qualitative, library-based method, the research applies Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s analytical model, framed within an integration of Islamic epistemological principles and comparative philosophical analysis. The primary source is Kanz al-Ma‘rifah by al-Banjari, supported by cross-referenced verification. The findings indicate that, according to al-Banjari, ma‘rifah is attainable through three key paths: Nūr Muhammad, mutu qabla an tamūtu, and fanā’. This concept provides an epistemological paradigm that integrates physical and metaphysical dimensions of knowledge, reconciles rational and intuitive methodologies, and transcends the subject-object dichotomy through spiritual experience. Through the ‘irfānī method focusing on purification of the heart and spiritual discipline, ma‘rifah offers a comprehensive epistemology that refines rational and sensory faculties, thereby presenting a critical alternative to the empiricism that dominates Western epistemology.
