Abstract

This research uses a qualitative approach which aims to understand a phenomenon in a natural social context by prioritizing the process of in-depth communication interaction between the researcher and the phenomenon being studied. To find out the development strategy method, namely by analyzing external factors in the form of opportunities and threats as well as internal factors in the form of strengths and weaknesses by using SWOT analysis. From the results of the research, it shows that in realizing managerial strategies, there are processes that need tlo ble impllemented tlo incrlease tealcher wolrk prodluctivity bly melans olf strlategy formlulation, straltegy implelmentation alnd strlategy evalluation. Iln thle conltrol aslpect, ilt ils carrlied olut throlugh a suplervisory prolcess throulgh superlvision actlivities, anld gilving punilshlment. Abstract

ABSTRAKThis study aims to describe and analyze the role of school leadership in enhancing the productivity of teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Menjalin. The leadership of the school principal plays a strategic role in creating a supportive and collaborative work environment, which can influence teacher motivation and performance. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, utilizing data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the principal of SMP Negeri 1 Menjalin has demonstrated effective leadership in directing, guiding, and empowering teachers. The principal has successfully internalized the school’s vision and mission through a collaborative approach that involves teachers in decision-making, as well as providing constructive supervision to improve the quality of teaching. Additionally, the principal has facilitated the development of teachers' competencies through various training and professional programs. These efforts have proven to have a positive impact on improving teacher productivity, although there are still challenges in certain areas that need further improvement. This study concludes that adaptive and transformational leadership by the school principal is crucial in fostering a productive, collaborative, and quality-oriented work culture, which ultimately contributes to the enhancement of educational quality at SMP Negeri 1 Menjalin.Kata Kunci: School Leadership; Teacher Productivity Teacher; Competency DevelopmentABSTRACTPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan produktivitas kerja guru di SMP Negeri 1 Menjalin. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memiliki peran strategis dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang mendukung dan berkolaboratif, yang dapat memengaruhi motivasi serta kinerja guru. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain Penelitian kasus, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah di SMP Negeri 1 Menjalin telah menunjukkan kemampuan dalam mengarahkan, membimbing, dan memberdayakan guru secara efektif. Kepala sekolah berhasil menginternalisasikan visi dan misi sekolah melalui pendekatan kolaboratif yang melibatkan guru dalam pengambilan keputusan, serta memberikan supervisi yang konstruktif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Selain itu, kepala sekolah juga memfasilitasi pengembangan kompetensi guru melalui berbagai pelatihan dan program profesional. Upaya tersebut terbukti berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan produktivitas kerja guru, meskipun masih terdapat tantangan dalam beberapa aspek yang perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang adaptif dan transformasional sangat penting dalam menciptakan budaya kerja yang produktif, kolaboratif, dan berorientasi pada mutu, yang pada akhirnya dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di SMP Negeri 1 Menjalin.Keywords: Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah; Produktivitas Kerja Guru; Pengembangan Kompetensi Guru
