Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design android application as English learning media for vocational high school by using Kodular. Based on the pre-observation, the researchers found out that the students had limit resources to learn English since they only have one source from the book, the students demanded to have learning sources that can be used anytime and everywhere. Besides, it is expected that it is able to help the students to learn more about TOEIC. The researchers decided to design android application as English learning media by using Kodular. It can be applied to students’ smartphone and will be able to be accessed anytime and everywhere. Research & Development is used as research method. There are several steps to be conducted, they are: 1) analyze students’ need; 2) collecting data; 3) designing prototype; 4) trying out product; 5) final product. The result of this research is English android application based on Kodular, namely EnglishEasy.

Abstract

Language is a fundamental tool for human interaction, and learning native and foreign languages is essential. As a global language, English is crucial in various fields, including business, science, and education. This community service aims to enhance Office Management students' presentation skills in English at Politama Surakarta. Observations revealed that students often lack confidence and hesitate to participate actively due to limited exposure to English-speaking environments. This community service activity employed lectures, discussions, QA sessions, and hands-on practice to address these challenges and develop students' speaking proficiency and self-confidence. The training was structured into three stages: introducing presentation techniques, teaching visual aid creation using tools like Canva, and providing guided practice sessions. The findings demonstrate significant improvements in students' confidence, organizational abilities, and presentation proficiency. Students reported a greater understanding of the material and active engagement during sessions. The results emphasize that integrating presentation techniques into EFL classes fosters an engaging and productive learning environment. By encouraging active participation, students enhance their speaking skills and develop critical thinking, teamwork, and organizational abilities essential for professional success.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a school website for SD Kanisius Keprabon 01 Surakarta which will be operated to promote its school. The reason why the writer decides to design a website is since the implementation of school zoning system, the number of students of SD Kanisius Keprabon 01 Surakarta decreases year by year. The solution to overcome this problem is to design a school website in order to reach a wider range. Website is an effective way to do a promotion because a website provides various information that can be searched for by users and it also provides an online students’ registration which can be done anywhere. This website is designed by using Elementor. According to Imas Indra (2021) Elemnetor is page builder which is specifically used to design a website based on WordPress. The writer uses Elementor because it provides various elements which will be useful to be used by user to operate this website.

Abstract

The development of technology, especially computers, can be used as a tool to create learning media, while mobile phones, especially Android-based ones, can be used as a means to deliver learning media. Based on interviews and observations in class, the researcher concluded that teachers have not been optimal in using learning media so that students are interested in learning, especially mathematics. Therefore, the creation of Android-based Mathematics learning media can make learning easier, more fun and more practical. This learning application is designed to be simple, efficient and easy to operate by users, especially elementary school students. This study aims to create an Android-based mathematics learning application using the class V code for elementary schools/Islamic elementary schools as an independent learning medium and to help increase students' interest in learning. The research method used is the extreme programming method which includes the stages of planning, design, coding, and testing which are calculated based on the Likert scale.  The results of the study showed that the average respondent strongly agreed that the application is suitable for use as an alternative android-based mathematics learning media using Kodular with the hope that students are happy and motivated to learn mathematics.

Abstract

The research was aimed at (1) finding out the quality of the existing textbook used to teach English to the second-semester students of the Informatics Management program, (2) finding out the students’ needs, and (3) developing an English textbook for second-semester students of Informatics Management major based on inquiry-based language learning (I.B.L.L.). It was a research and development (R & D) study to supplement the textbook for Informatics Management students using I.B.L.L. R & D study had two stages: (1) the exploration stage, which consists of library research, document analysis, and needs analysis and (2) the development stage, which was aimed at designing the supplementary textbook. The data were analyzed by using an interactive method. The result showed that the “English for Computer” textbook could be supplementary for Informatics Management students.
