Abstract

This community service program aims to increase the capacity and welfare of partner communities through training in the application of appropriate technology based on solar panels and local business development through solar panel–based refrigeration box innovations. Training and mentoring are provided to assemble, use, maintain, and repair this technology, so that the community is able to operate the technology independently. In addition, local community business groups were formed to process fish into value-added products. Product diversification helps increase income and open new market opportunities for the local community. The results of the program implementation include the successful implementation of sustainable local fisheries business innovations based on renewable energy in Sibatua Village, improved community skills, the formation of productive business groups, and the diversification of processed fish products. Qualitative and quantitative evaluations show that this program has provided significant benefits to the community, both economically and environmentally. The program is also designed to be sustainable, with plans to develop new products in the following year based on local wisdom to expand the positive impact on the local fisheries sector. With these innovations and training, the community is not only more independent in managing partner resources but also better equipped to face the challenges of sustainable fisheries, increasing productivity and the long-term welfare of partners.

Abstract

This study tests an integrated structural model linking Artificial Intelligence (AI) use in learning, psychological factors derived from Self-Determination Theory (SDT), and employability skills among vocational education students. Specifically, AI is positioned as a contextual support associated with the fulfillment of competence, autonomy, and relatedness. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed using self-reported data from 263 vocational students in Indonesia, which were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that competence, autonomy, and relatedness are significantly associated with employability skills, with competence emerging as the strongest predictor. AI use demonstrates a significant indirect effect on employability skills, primarily through competence. In contrast, burnout, learning anxiety, and learning motivation do not show significant direct associations with employability skills, suggesting that psychological need fulfillment plays a more central role in the model. This study contributes to the literature by situating AI within the SDT framework as a contextual enabler of psychological need fulfillment in vocational education. The findings indicate that AI-supported learning environments are associated with stronger fulfillment of competence, autonomy, and relatedness, which in turn are linked to employability development. Practically, the results highlight the importance of designing AI-assisted learning environments that support competence, autonomy, and relatedness
