Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Pojok Baca program in Kampung Fanamo on improving community literacy, particularly among children and teenagers. The research method used includes the establishment of Pojok Baca as a literacy center, training for managers and the community, and the integration of technology to expand access to information. Data were collected from various sources, including visitors to Pojok Baca, teachers, and local community leaders, to obtain a comprehensive overview of the program's effectiveness. The results indicate that the Pojok Baca program successfully achieved its primary objectives of increasing reading interest and literacy skills within the community. The increase in the number of visitors and book borrowings, as well as reports from local teachers, show significant improvements in the reading and writing skills of children involved in this program. Additionally, the formation of an active literacy community indicates that the program has also successfully encouraged social engagement and collaboration among residents. Although the program faced several challenges, such as limited infrastructure and logistics, the participatory approach involving the community in every stage of the program's implementation proved effective in overcoming these obstacles. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that with appropriate support and a participatory approach, literacy programs like Pojok Baca can have a significant positive impact on improving literacy in remote areas and empowering communities to actively participate in social change.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the public sector's involvement in local empowerment economies as well as the implementation of policies for micro and small businesses. The research method used is qualitative research. Qualitative research is a research method used to understand social phenomena in depth. This type of research is literature study research, which researchers carry out by collecting, studying, and analyzing references or sources obtained in written or written form, such as books, journals, articles, documents, and other sources of information that are significant to the topic or title being researched. The study's findings show that empowering the local economy, particularly through support for micro and small businesses (UMK), plays a critical role in increasing economic growth and sustainable development in Indonesia. MSEs don't only become a bone-back economy locally by creating fieldwork and contributing to domestic income, but they also strengthen the resilience economy area to change the global economy. Apart from that, MSEs also play a role in strengthening identity culture and the local sustainability environment with produce-rooted goods and services in inheritance culture and local traditions. Empowering the local economy through support for MSEs involves not only increasing access to sources of power but also empowering the public to play a role in their development.

Abstract

This study examines the role of financial access, entrepreneurial education, and social capital in influencing SME growth. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a critical role in economic development, yet many face significant barriers to sustainable expansion, particularly in terms of capital constraints, limited managerial capability, and weak business networks. Using a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional survey of 210 SME owners and managers, this study employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that financial access, entrepreneurial education, and social capital all have positive and significant effects on SME growth. Among these variables, entrepreneurial education emerges as the strongest predictor, highlighting the central role of human capital in enhancing business performance. Furthermore, the findings reveal that entrepreneurial education partially mediates the relationship between financial access and SME growth, suggesting that financial resources generate greater impact when accompanied by managerial knowledge and skills. The structural model explains 67% of the variance in SME growth, demonstrating substantial explanatory power. These findings imply that SME development policies should adopt an integrated approach that combines improved financial inclusion, entrepreneurship education programs, and strengthened networking opportunities to foster sustainable business expansion. This study contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive framework that integrates financial, human, and social capital perspectives in explaining SME growth.
