Abstract

Background: The role of parents is very important for children, this is because dealing with children with communication problems parents need to know special skills to guide children. Vocabulary is very important and necessary in communicating verbally with others and also the mastery of vocabulary owned by a person also affects the ability to understand something. Objectives: This study aims to provide an overview of the relationship between family participation and vocabulary in children with communication problems in Sukoharjo District. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional study design, involving 30 parent respondents who have children with communication problems at the Sukoharjo Regency Language and Speech Learning Clinic. The data in this study were analysed univariately and bivariately. The statistical test used is using Spearman's Rank test. Results: The results of the analysis test showed =0.001 (Ha accepted) with a correlation coefficient of r=0.566 which shows the relationship between the two variables in the strong category with a positive direction. Conclusion: Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between family participation and vocabulary and further research needs to be done on the relationship between family participation and vocabulary. Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi proses belajar ialah memori. Jika anak sudah belajar dengan baik namun hasilnya buruk, hal ini memungkinkan anak mengalami gangguan belajar. terdapat 16,52% murid yang diperkirakan mengalami kesulitan belajar. Salah satu metode yang dapat melatih daya ingat anak ialah bernyanyi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivitasan bernyanyi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan working memory siswa kelas 2 SD yang mengalami gangguan belajar di Surakarta. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design) dengan jenis penelitiannya yaitu desain runtut waktu (time series design). Teknik pengambilan sampelnya yaitu purposive sampling mengambil empat anak yaitu P1, P2, P3, dan P4 dengan gangguan belajar di Surakarta. Data yang terkumpul akan dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon, pada pre test post test working memory digit maju diperoleh nilai signifikasi (p) yaitu 1.000, 1.000 > 0.05 yang artinya Hipotesis alternatif (Ha) ditolak dan Hipotesi nol (Ho) diterima. Pada pre test post test working memory digit mundur diperoleh nilai signifikasi (p) yaitu 0.285, 0.285 > 0.05 yang artinya Hipotesis alternatif (Ha) ditolak dan Hipotesi nol (Ho) diterima. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat efektivitas dari bernyanyi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan working memory pada siswa kelas 2 SD yang mengalami gangguan belajar di Surakarta.

Abstract

Abstract Background: Reading comprehension exhibits a complex system that describes how different linguistic elements take part in reception and comprehension. Metalinguistics indirectly affects how one comprehends a passage. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between metalinguistics and reading comprehension ability of children in grades 2-6 in Surakarta. Methods: This study is a type of quantitative research and uses a causality research design. In sampling using multistage sampling technique with a sample of 100 respondents. Data collection using questions then data processing using the spearman rank test. Results: This study uses the spearman rank analysis test because it is to determine the relationship between the two variables. With the results of the p value = 0.000, where the p value <0.05 then Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) is accepted, thus indicating that there is a significant relationship between metalinguistics and Reading Comprehension ability of children in grades 2-6 SD in Surakarta. The correlation coefficient of 0.51 is said to be strong because it falls into the interval. Conclusion: Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a strong relationship between metalinguistics and reading comprehension ability in grade 2-6 elementary school children.
