Abstract

School is a place for intellectual development of students. Efforts to create a healthy school environment affect the comfort and effectiveness of teaching and learning activities so that optimal results will be obtained in terms of cognitive, psychomotor and the formation of attitudes and behavior of students. To realize a healthy school environment, appropriate, planned, integrated, and sustainable efforts are needed, one of which is by managing organic waste in schools. The application of humic acid and biopores as alternatives for processing organic waste in the school environment can bring many benefits, such as reducing the amount of organic waste dumped into the environment, reducing negative impacts on the environment and human health. This community service program is carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, namely research carried out in a participatory manner and then applied to action. The target participants of the community service program are grade X students of SMA Ma'arif Karangawen. The activities to be carried out are training and mentoring. Participatory action research used in this community service is an implementation of a theory of biotechnology (utilization of microorganisms) through the development of actions, or several actions to make environmental changes, namely through training and mentoring in making compost using a composter and with appropriate technology in the form of biopores to overcome puddles of water around the SMA Ma'arif Karangawen office. The results of the analysis of participant response questionnaire data showed a positive response from participants of 73% and 27% negative responses, this means that training and mentoring activities for organic waste processing are effectively carried out in schools. Therefore, the application of humic acid and biopores as an alternative to organic waste processing in the school environment is worthy of being implemented and developed further.  Keywords: Humic Acid; biopori ; Participatory Action Research (PAR); limbah organik.

Abstract

Nilai estetika pada tanaman hias anggrek menjadi pendorong terjadinya usaha melakukan konservasi dengan melakukan kegiatan nurseri produksi. Potensi kepopuleran tanaman anggrek yang meningkat dari tahun ke tahun diperlukannya peningkatan kualitas tanaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang bersumber pada kegiatan praktek lapangan dan dilakukan analisis secara literature review. Tanaman anggrek Dendrobium sp. memiliki keunikan dalam segi bentuk, warna, ukuran, serta pertumbuhan yang cepat. Untuk menjawab kebutuhan pasar diperlukannya suatu upaya manajemen yang berkelanjutan dengan menerapkan Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) yang mampu menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan tanaman anggrek Dendrobium sp.

Abstract

The reduction of carbon dioxide (CO?) emissions at UIN Walisongo Semarang is a strategic step toward achieving a sustainable campus. This article examines the calculation of residual CO? emissions as a foundation for reducing the carbon footprint at UIN Walisongo Semarang, with a focus on the role of green open spaces in carbon sequestration. The research combines an analysis of CO? emissions from motor vehicles, energy consumption, and building operations, as well as the role of open spaces in carbon storage through photosynthesis and evapotranspiration. The analysis results show that although 82% of the campus area is dedicated to open spaces, CO? emissions remain high, with a 5.3% increase in the carbon footprint from 2020 to 2021. The calculation of residual CO? emissions reveals the significant potential of open spaces in reducing the carbon footprint; however, additional efforts are needed to manage emissions effectively in order to achieve a more environmentally friendly campus. This study provides recommendations for managing open spaces as a climate change mitigation solution at the university.

Abstract

Lingkungan merupakan sumber kehidupan yang dibutuhkan oleh makhluk hidup. Sepuluh tahun terakhir lingkungan telah mengalami degradasi lingkungan dalam skala nasional dan lokal karena kesalahan filosofis mendasar dari cara berpikir manusia tentang diri mereka sendiri, alam dan seluruh ekosistem. Permasalahan lingkungan mendorong perbaikan pengelolaan lingkungan dari perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang dapat mengubah pola pikir dan perilaku manusia, salah satunya dapat dilakukan melalui pendidikan. Pendidikan lingkungan, dilakukan upaya untuk membangun cara pandang terhadap lingkungan dalam paradigma ekosentrisme. Literasi lingkungan merupakan komponen penting dalam pendidikan yang mampu mengubah gaya hidup berdasarkan prinsip berkelanjutan. Unsur literasi lingkungan terdiri dari pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku peduli lingkungan. Sampel yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 339 sampel dari total empat angkatan mahasiswa calon guru pada Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi UIN Walisongo. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan angket. Data hasil pengukuran sikap dan perilaku peduli lingkungan dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi spearman. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara sikap dan perilaku peduli lingkungan mahasiswa calon guru memiliki hubungan yang kuat dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,511.
