Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the cost of capital on corporate investment decisions. In an increasingly complex economic context, companies are required to consider the cost of capital in every investment decision to ensure the feasibility and sustainability of projects. The approach used in this research is qualitative with an exploratory case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with financial managers, CFOs, and company leaders directly involved in investment decision-making, as well as observations and document analysis. The findings of the study indicate that the cost of capital, which includes the cost of debt and equity, has a significant influence in guiding investment decisions. Companies with a more diverse capital structure tend to have greater flexibility in managing their cost of capital, while companies with a higher proportion of debt are more cautious in making investment decisions. The findings also reveal that companies that are more innovative in managing their cost of capital succeed in finding lower-cost funding sources and diversifying their investment portfolios. This study suggests the importance of improving financial literacy for small and medium-sized enterprises and optimizing capital structure to reduce overall cost of capital. Additionally government policies that support access to more affordable financing should be considered.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) aims to improve financial literacy among high school students in Aceh through financial management education using digital applications. Financial literacy is crucial for young people to help them manage money wisely, especially in the digital era. The program was held on September 9, 2024, involving 50 students who participated in training sessions covering financial literacy materials, digital financial application simulations, and group discussions. The implementation method includes preparation, interactive execution, and evaluation, interspersed with ice-breaking activities throughout the program to create a fun learning atmosphere, boost motivation, and encourage active participation from the participants. The results showed high enthusiasm among participants, evident from their early attendance, active engagement, and success in group simulations. This program effectively enhanced students' understanding and motivation in financial management. This approach is expected to serve as a solution for expanding financial literacy education among students.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance public understanding of the importance of voting rights in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada), involving the active role of higher education institutions through the three pillars of collaboration. The event was attended by one hundred lecturers lecturers from the Forum of Communication of Lecturers (FKD) across West Java, discussing the importance of book publication as an educational medium for young voters on democracy and voting rights. The implementation method included preparation, interactive execution, and evaluation through post-event discussions. The participants showed high enthusiasm, asking numerous questions related to textbook writing strategies, publisher selection, citation improvement, collaboration between higher education institutions, and book marketing strategies. As a result, the event not only provided education on the importance of creating textbooks and reference books but also raised lecturers' awareness of their role in facilitating political and democratic education. It also opened opportunities for collaboration to expand the impact of democratic education through informative and sustainable textbook publications.
