<![CDATA[Tulisan ini memberikan gambaran potret kejadian perceraian di Kota Semarang. Meningkatnya jumlah perceraian dari tahun ke tahun, khususnya cerai gugat merupakan masalah yang cukup serius jika dihubungkan dengan tujuan perkawinan. Studi ini dilakukan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa dalam lima tahun terakhir, komposisi jumlah cerai gugat selalu melebihi 75% dari total jumlah perceraian. Sebaliknya komposisi jumlah cerai talak selalu kurang dari 25% dari total jumlah perceraian. Cerai talak adalah perceraian yang dilakukan oleh suami dan cerai gugat adalah perceraian yang dilakukan oleh istri. Faktor utama kejadian perceraian di Kota Semarang pada kurun waktu 2019-2023 yaitu perselisihan atau pertengkaran yang terus menerus, faktor ekonomi, dan salah satu pihak meninggalkan pasangannya. Selain itu ada sepuluh faktor lain, namun tidak dominan.Kata kunci: perceraian, cerai talak, cerai gugat, faktor utama. Abstract. This paper provides a portrait description the incidence of divorce in Semarang Municipality. The increasing number of divorces from year to year, especially contested divorce, is a serious problem if it is related to the the marriage's purpose. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a literature study approach. The results of the study show that in the last five years, the composition of the total number of contested divorces has always exceeds 75% of the total number of divorces. On the other hand, the composition of the total number of talak divorces is always less than 25% of the total number of divorces. Talak divorce is a divorce carried out by the husband and contested divorce is carried out by the wife. The main factors in the incidence of divorce in Semarang Municipality on 2019 until 2023 are continuous disputes or fights, economic factors, and one party leaving their spouse.
