Abstract

Waste management is one of the social problems that must be handled as soon as possible by the entire community. If waste management is not handled as early as possible, it will have a bad impact on life in the future. The pattern of consumptive community habits also affects the volume of waste produced. The purpose of this study is to find out the community's understanding of household waste management in RT 03 RW 17 Kahuripan Village. This study is a quantitative descriptive research using a questionnaire distribution that contains statements with multiple choices in the form of true and false. The overall research results are included in the high category (very good understanding) with a percentage of 65%. When viewed from the overall average value, the percentage is 80%. The highest percentage based on per indicator and per statement lies in the indicator summarizing precisely number 9 regarding the 3R principle and explaining, precisely in statement number 15 regarding waste disposal sites that must be adjusted to the type of waste with a percentage of 94.9%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat kepuasan warga belajar terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran visual dalam les bahasa Inggris di wilayah pedesaan Desa Medanglayang. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner yang disebar kepada 30 peserta dan observasi non-partisipatif selama proses pembelajaran. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media visual mampu meningkatkan pemahaman materi, motivasi belajar, dan minat peserta terhadap bahasa Inggris. Mayoritas warga belajar menyatakan merasa puas dan sangat puas terhadap penggunaan media visual yang relevan dan menarik, yang mampu membuat suasana belajar lebih menyenangkan dan interaktif. Temuan ini mendukung teori bahwa media visual efektif meningkatkan pengalaman belajar di pendidikan nonformal, khususnya di lingkungan pedesaan. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini memberikan gambaran pentingnya pengembangan media pembelajaran yang sesuai konteks lokal agar pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di lingkungan rural dapat lebih efektif dan mengakomodasi kebutuhan peserta didik. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media visual berpotensi besar dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di komunitas pedesaan. Abstract This study aims to examine the level of learner satisfaction with the use of visual learning media in English lessons in the rural area of Medanglayang Village. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 30 participants and non-participant observations during the learning process. The analysis reveals that visual media effectively enhance participants' understanding of the material, motivation, and interest in learning English. The majority of learners expressed satisfaction or high satisfaction with the relevant and engaging visual media, which contributed to a more enjoyable and interactive learning environment. These findings support the theory that visual media can improve learning experiences in nonformal education, especially in rural settings. Furthermore, the results emphasize the importance of developing contextually relevant learning media tailored to local needs to make English learning in rural environments more effective. Overall, this research demonstrates that visual media have significant potential to improve the success of English language learning in rural communities.
