Abstract

Researchers in Guangxi Province, China, are doing research on primary school teachers to investigate the relationship between environmental aesthetics, aesthetic experiences, and sustainable development. To conducting an analysis of the data collected from 435 elementary school teachers who participated in a structured survey, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SMART PLS software was utilized. According to the conclusions of the study, there is a large and beneficial association between environmental aesthetics, aesthetic experiences, and sustainable development. Based on the findings, it is possible that enhancing environmental aesthetics could result in an increase in the number of aesthetic experiences, which could be beneficial to educational sustainable development. The research is restricted to a narrow geographic area and relies on self-reported data, both of which may restrict its capacity to be generalized. The research demonstrates that environmental aesthetics influence the educational experiences of primary teachers, notwithstanding the constraints that have been mentioned. The knowledge of this fact may have an impact on educational practices and policies pertaining to sustainability. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2024-SIED1-013 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

Family is the basic unit of society, and communication conflicts among family members have a great influence on their psychological state and the relationship of the entire family. The parent-child relationship, in particular, often faces tensions arising from communicative differences and misunderstandings. Drawing on Conversation Analysis, this critical case study aims to explore how impoliteness is realized through speech acts in family conflicts between a mother and daughter participating in a mediation show ‘金牌调解’ (Jin Pai Tiao Jie). Findings reveal that high-frequency speech acts like insult and sarcasm significantly escalate mother-daughter tensions, while low-frequency but high-impact acts (e.g., threat and criticism) further damage their relationship; moreover, avoidant speech acts, such as disassociation, fail to resolve conflicts and instead mask deep-seated issues, exacerbating the discord. This study advances the under-researched field of family communication by showing how impoliteness escalates conflicts. This study contributes to offering practical insights for parents and children to recognize and mitigate harmful interactions in daily communication.

Abstract

Microfluidics is a technology that manipulates fluids at a microscale and has shown great potential in various fields, including energy. This mini-review discusses common microfluidic materials and the main techniques in microfluidic chip fabrication, such as photolithography, soft lithography, and 3D printing-based fabrication methods. Furthermore, several applications of microfluidic chips in the energy sector, such as solar energy and fuel cell systems development, are also discussed. The use of microfluidic chips in energy systems offers high efficiency, low material consumption, and good system integration. This review aims to provide an overview of the progress of microfluidic chip fabrication and its energy potential applications.
