Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed learning systems in Islamic boarding schools. Santri no longer rely solely on traditional kitab-based learning but also utilize digital technology and artificial intelligence in daily academic activities. This study aims to analyze the effects of Turats Learning, AI Assisted Learning, digital literacy, spiritual leadership, and collaborative learning on santri academic achievement through student engagement. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 250 santri from several modern Islamic boarding schools in East Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The hypotheses examined both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that Turats Learning and digital literacy have strong effects on student engagement and santri academic achievement. AI-assisted learning and collaborative learning also significantly improve student participation in the learning process. This study contributes to the development of an adaptive Islamic boarding school education model that integrates digital transformation while maintaining spiritual values and traditional Islamic learning culture. The findings highlight the importance of balancing modern technology with pesantren academic traditions to improve the quality of santri education.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe management of goat manure waste in Jegreg Village, Modo District, Lamongan Regency, has not yet been optimized; consequently, its potential as an agricultural resource remains underutilized. This community service initiative aimed to enhance farmers' knowledge and skills in processing goat manure into liquid organic fertilizer and to encourage waste management practices that support sustainable agriculture. The activities included awareness-raising sessions, educational outreach, demonstrations, hands-on practice in producing liquid organic fertilizer, and ongoing guidance. The project involved 20 farmers from Jegreg Village, supported by 18 students from the Darul ‘Ulum Islamic University Lamongan’s Community Service Program (KKN) acting as facilitators. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test methods to measure the increase in participants' knowledge, complemented by observation and practical application during the activities. The results showed that the participants' average knowledge level rose from 49.6% before the training to 89.0% afterward—an increase of 39.4%. The most significant gains were observed in the understanding of materials and equipment for liquid organic fertilizer production and the fermentation process, with each area showing a 44.0% improvement. Participants also demonstrated the ability to independently carry out the production process, ranging from material preparation and fermentation to application on crops. This initiative demonstrates that community empowerment based on the utilization of livestock waste can enhance community capacity while simultaneously supporting more environmentally friendly and sustainable agricultural practices. Keywords: Community Empowerment; Liquid Organic Fertilizer; Goat Manure; Sustainable Agriculture.
