Abstract

This research is motivated by the inaugural Street Race event initiated by the Metro Jaya Police Chief in early 2022, during which various news programs on Metro TV made several special broadcasts about the Street Race implementation process related to the Metro Jaya Police's efforts to overcome the problem of illegal racing that often occurs in big cities. This research aims to understand why Metro TV is framing the issue of Street Race implemented by Polda Metro Jaya and then associated with Robert N. Entman's framing analysis and how the program constructs it. The literature review in this research includes Mass Communication, Mass Media, Television News, Framing Analysis, Framing Theory According to Robert Entman, and Framing Tools. This research applies a descriptive analysis approach. The descriptive method is used to explore or investigate the events under study. This research describes how framing is formed in news programs, focusing on two dimensions, namely issue selection and emphasis on certain aspects of the issue. The results of the research show the prominence of framing in the reality of the construction of the news of the Inaugural Street Race in Ancol, that the street race event, which was initiated by the Metro Jaya Police Chief, received support and appreciation from various parties, ranging from the Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), Motorsport Observers to the Motorcycle Community. Through the use of this positive framing framework, it succeeded in constructing a narrative that supported police actions in overcoming the illegal races that often happen.

Abstract

This study aims to determine Metro TV's media strategy in media convergence, especially in optimizing the use of new media for broadcast programs: "OPSI." This study describes how the media implements the use of social media for the development of tv programs. The method in this study uses descriptive qualitative with in-depth interviews and observations. Metro TV seeks to optimize the advantages of new media for media convergence to broadcast in a multiplatform way. These advantages include multimedia, topicality, fastness, update, flexibility, breadth, and interaction. It is used to expand the reach and adapt to the audience's habits in consuming media today. Moreover, it can be used as a medium for promotion before the program airs.

Abstract

The study focuses on strategic leadership in developing human resource capacity at the Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Cempaka Putih. Hospitals as complex organizations require competent human resources to be able to compete in this competitive era. The study was analyzed using an interpretive qualitative method by conducting in-depth interviews with two informants who are the top leaders of the hospital, namely the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Finance at the Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Cempaka Putih. The results of the study indicate that the hospital's strategic leadership towards human resource development is in the form of leadership commitment in human resource development starting from the selective recruitment process with established measuring tools and the process of developing existing human resource capacity. Leaders also motivate all employees from the managerial level to the staff in various meetings. Finally, leaders provide appreciation to employees in both cash and non-cash forms in the form of training and education.Keywords : strategic leadership, hospital

Abstract

This study concerns with the implementation of National Health Insurance program, which was started on January 1 of 2014, which has caused changes in health area, especially among hospitals. The information regarding the senses, roles, and leadership model of the hospitals was acquired by conducting in-depth interviews with twelve informants from three hospitals in Tangerang City. This qualitative study incorporates the intersubjective phenomenology with IPA (Interpretative Phenomenology Analysis) approach.The analysis resulted in three propositions. First, strategic leadership is a condition where the leader has a broad vision with abilities in mitigating the future, managing risks, and creating excellent products within appropriate health services. Second, strategic leaders in the National Health Insurance era are instrumental in developing the resource capacity by creating commitments toward improvements of human resource competence and appreciation for higher work motivation. Third, the leaders guide the organization to adapt by making changes in the organizational structure and culture and controlling the implementation of the National Health Insurance through the utilization of technology. This strategic leadership is characterized by the presence of visionary leaders, the development of resource capacity, and the development of adaptive technology. This study produces a research model that can be applied not only in health industry but also in other industries by conducting quantitative assessments on the propositions discovered in this research.Keywords : strategic leadership, hospital, National Health Insurance
